Since my Blueshirts are terrible and traded half their team...I'll go Tampa. I'd even be happy to see the Jackets take it all. Wouldn't mind the Preds or Vegas out west.
  2. I'm a big fan of fast for frog fishing.
  3. Maybe they just really like to bass fish? I'm in that category. I don't care to do any other fishing than bass. I don't see anything wrong with that. I like what I like.
  4. Awesome!! Glad you were able to pick that up. It looked brand new.
  5. If anyone is near the cabelas store in Pottsville, PA, there is a pristine old school daiwa zillion in the bargain cave for $160. Took every ounce of me to resist. It's the 100SHA
  6. I don't think this is true of most boaters in the Opens. Having another angler in their boat during practice can help them establish a pattern or find the "right" bait quicker. I'm sure there are a few Pros that want to do it on their own (or just don't want a stranger in their boat more than they have to) but when that kind of money is on the line, having a second line in the water searching is advantageous.
  7. Get good at dock fishing!
  8. Wanna get me a job there too? I moved away from the 1000 Islands area almost 2 and a half years ago to the DC metro area...I miss the fishing up there. There's just no place in the country like it. Congrats man!
  9. Those things have a different walk than any other frog I've used. It's super wide, almost like a spook. Do you bend the hooks out a little? I feel like it's almost necessary in order to hook up.
  10. Thanks for the suggestion. I've actually been pretty interested in those, just haven't pulled the trigger because I have a Spro stockpile that's gonna last me the next few years. I had a lot of success last year on the bronzeye jrs early in the season so some smaller profile frogs are more and more intriguing.
  11. I'm a Spro guy 100% and I fish a frog A LOT. I've used pad crashers and they work well. They haven't lasted as long as my spros though. Ish's phat frogs are super easy to walk but aren't great for hookups because of their super low profile and small hook gap. I like my Live Targets too but I wouldn't recommend them over Spros or Booyahs.
  12. I rarely keep anything and will only eat a bass if it expires in the livewell or is deep hooked and won't survive. I think most state regulations do a good job keeping fish populations healthy so as much as I cringe seeing a bass on a stringer, if it's harvested within the law, I won't cast too much judgement (pun intended). I just hope we all understand that with the advances in technology, fish are getting easier to find and, for many, catch. Couple that with the simple fact that our population is higher (and way more people are fishing for bass), I imagine some damage could possibly be done at some point if too many are kept.
  13. I rented a boat saturday out of fountainhead. Fished from 10 to 6 and only got 4 (all within 30 mins around 4:45). Every bite came flipping in the back of a pocket.
  14. Not sure how much these normally go for, but here's a link to get 25% off a speed demon, for all you Kastking fans out there. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B074WNVNRP/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&tag=kastkingyoutuber-20&camp=1789&creative=9325&linkCode=as2&creativeASIN=B074WNVNRP&linkId=87dcc04f5de0094310f6e9460d677bbf

Those suckers weren't biting when I was there 6 weeks ago haha. She's a beaut.
  16. Northern Alabama or East Texas would be your best bet. Reservoirs like Guntersville, Sam Rayburn, and Toledo Bend have tournaments on them almost every day!
  17. I second @A-Jay. Definitely think it was a Jackhammer.
  18. Tax stimulus sale is usually only 10%
  19. I agree. I was actually disappointed that they got rid of the rubber/cork composite grips on the Heliums. The Winns feel ok but they do somewhat "cheapen" the feel of the rod.
  20. I've been going with UPS the last couple years and every rod I've shipped has cost me $30 - $38.
  21. I heard they're supposed to have red winn grips and will be priced lower than previous Z bones. Not sure how reliable the info is.
  22. I don't even know if we can compare the anglers of "then" to the anglers of "now." Like every sport, fishing was much different 30 - 40 yrs ago.
  23. I got the 7'10 mh. It came today in a broken rod tube...by some miracle, it survived. I'm not much of an Abu fan but the rod seems pretty nice.
  24. Haha yeah. It's a solid deal for sure. I've also found the Aftco Anhydrous bibs for about the same price so my heads spinning a bit. I even just ordered a pair of the Simms Challenger bibs because they were $99 on fieldandstreamshop.com. Should get those tomorrow so we'll see what they're like.
  25. I actually just ordered a pair of the Stormr Aero bibs but sent them back. They were nice and seemed like really good quality. I just didn't care for the fit.
