  1. I seldom pay retail. But I buy a bunch on sale. Gonna save my way to the poorhouse
  2. Corporate 101. You have to grow every year to satisfy the board and owners. It is ruthless. You have to plan your growth (forcast) and make your plan (deliver your forcast). There are two ways to grow, by increasing revenue in your company, or buy someone else's company. You do not buy companies unless there are perceived inefficiencies, where you can tighten things up, whether it be personnel , tax advantages (move) or eliminate stagnant lines. We are enthusiasts, but the large companies want to appeal to the general public. one thing for sure: buyout = change.
  3. Sort of a fisherman's bug out bag! I can fly fish with a couple small boxes in a vest or chest pack. But when fishing with regular rods and reels, I almost sink my kayak.
  4. I agree with Catt. I fish some of the gnarliest stuff imaginable from a kayak. I try to go where bass boats can't. Texas rig, Palomar knot, and I use braid 65#. Or heavy mono.
  5. My Walmart has CC spots. Fairly cheap
  6. Never fished for carp. Heard it is a blast on a fly rod.
  7. It is all good. There is a good article about a braid to leader system where you just change out leader material. I am also liking Yo Zuri hybrid line.
  8. I am one of those weirdos that basically started with a fly rod . I don't like to fish sinking lines or heavy flies. I like poppers, Wooly buggers and light clousers. Love Bream on a fly rod. My primary Bass rod is an 8 wt St Croix with a Pflugerville reel. I have a 7 wt Bass Pro Shops with an Okuma reel, a 9 wt Lamiglass with a Hardy, and a 10 wt Sage with an Okuma reel. (Salmon, Steelhead and heavy salt. For panfishing and trout I have a Sage 3 wt with an Oris reel and a 5 wt Loomis with a Ross reel. I also have a Mike Clark Bamboo. It is a sickness. I only use poppers or flies that I have built or tied. I can spin deer hair when in the mood and love the way it lands. I love a Dahlberg diver. Mostly I use foam for poppers, and tie a modified Bob's banqer and typical poppers. I think a fly rod 1 thread is needed. Maybe a fly fishing and or tying forum on this site
  9. I use Zoom finesse and trickworms. Believe it or not, 4 inch Luck E Strike with hook tail from Wal Mart. Sometimes I have done well with Zoom swamp crawlers, too.
  10. I have a F&S Eagle Talon. Been happy with it once I put a seat in it. I have an inflatable life jacket, very comfortable. You will modify it, whatever you get.
  11. Looks like you are dialed in.
  12. You are worrying about a non issue. Fish what you have.
  13. It looked different back then. Maybe it was the haze we were in...
  14. Yeah, a 9 lb bass . He didn't know what he was doing.
  15. Funny. I am a veterinarian and I don't have one in my yak, either. I carry iodine crub when fishing the gulf because of flesh eating bacteria. I guess I should do better.
  16. I tend to fish plastics (worms) Texas rigged or weightless, a few cranks and spinnerbaits. Never tried chatterbaits, jerkbaits, flukes, drop shot, c rig, split shot, ot grubs. Very little experience with creatures. Got to branch out. What have you never tried?
  17. I agree. Fantastic site! Thanks for helping us out, Glenn.
  18. I use both Pflugerville and Okuma and they are both fantastic.
  19. If fish like cat turds as much as my dog does, you may be on to something!
