I used to buy a 2" purple split-tail grub with the tail part being red. They were called firetails. Can't find them any more and was wondering what kind of paint or dye could be used to make my own. Thanks.

I guess it depends on what boats are going for in your area. I think $4500 is way to much for that rig. I have seen many boats of that type for $2000/$2500. Keep shopping.

Most fishermen don't fill their tackle boxes in one season. We look for bargins and pick up stuff as we need it throughout the season. Roadwarrior is right. Start with a couple of baits and add to it when you get the chance.

I have a Ambassedeur 5000 that I got in 1965 and still works great. I don't use it as much, but have not retired it yet. I have passed down some old Mitchell reels to my kids and some of them are still in use. 8-)
