Went from flukes to kietech swing impacts. I dont know if I caught anymore than I would have with the flukes, but did spend more money on them. I also started using a drop shot. Caught some good fish and really liked using it. This is definitely something I'm going to expand on next season.

Thanks. They are the blood series skirts, mixed with some white, in the white one and chart in the chart one. I 've done well with these same skirts on spinnerbaits lately. I figured it was time to try them on the swim jigs. The first test at a local pond was pretty good for this time of year. I had 2 in about an hour. Now I'll wait for spring. The heads are real nice to, I wonder who made them for me?

Devcon works well, as does the Components Systems clear coat. Like the others have said, there is no real easy way. I normally make sure the eyes are good and covered. If the ends are up a little, they come off easy.

Here's a few swim jigs I tied up. I've done well with spinnerbaits in these colors, so I figured I'd give the jigs a shot.

X3, plus there is no way one bait will work the best all the time. A jig is fine, but I wouldn't limit myself to 1/2. 1/8 and 1/4 work well in winter also. As do susp jerkbaits, grubs, hair jigs and silver buddies.

Binders in original bags, separated by style of baits.

BPS makes some plastic guards you slip onto a jighead. They work real well in the situation your talking about. You slip it over the barb that holds the grub on, then thread the grub on with the hook exposed, then put the guard over the hook.

X2 to what jig man said. It's probably the cheapest and easiest way.

There's no rule of thumb, its your preference. I normally put 50 strands on mine, sometimes a few less on smaller finesse jigs. I personally don't use rattles and if I do, I insert a glass rattle into the trailer. I'm not crazy about the add on jig rattles. Those are nice looking baits you made.

Look for flats with rock in April and fish jerkbaits, jigs and hair jigs. Around the two main launch ramps are good also. Shoot me an IM and I can get into more detail. Like you said, it gets pressure all year.

Great lake for both small and largemouth. Right now with the colder weather, the fish are deep on structure. Blade baits, spoons, etc. Come April, the place will be on fire.

Try an all black 1/8 football jig w/ single wire guard. For a trailer, either a small double tail grub or piece of a finesse worm.

X2 on the water temp before air temp. A crankbait is a good start, but don't be afraid to switch up quickly to slower baits.

In CT, you can't go wrong with: 4" worms on slider heads 3/16 blue fleck or pumpkin 4" wacky rigged senkos black blue or watermelon 1/4 black football jig pop r Shad 3/8 spinnerbait

All what you prefer. For me it's an original suspending Rogue. Right after ice out they work very well. I don't fish jerkbaits at all in the summer [maybe a floating Rapala] and use more spinnerbaits in the fall.

X 3 on the bullet or brush, bullet being better in heavier veg. I've also been using a poison tail, which has been pretty good.

A small 1/8 or 1/16th black jig w/ a small craw trailer and/or a floating Rapala, either twitched on the surface or fished very slow. If all else fails, a Blue Fox gold inline spinner.
