Farm Pond Troubles
you could use a fluke fished slooooooowly or dead stick a trickworm. I catch alot of fish this time of year on hard jerkbaits too.

Sufix 100% Fluorocarbon
The last 2 days I've been using 6# on spinning gear for small jerkbaits and cranks and its great! May be spooling up some other combos with this. The sensitivity is amazing!

Sufix 100% Fluorocarbon
I have fished the 14# on my plastics rod last year and loved it! Great manageability and not bad for memory either. Favorite fluoro so far, and I've tried lots of 'em

Your "go to" spinning outfit for small tubes............
G loomis mossyback BSR803(6'8"MXF) and Abu Soron 10 Fenwick HMX 6'6" MF and Abu Soron 10 both 6# suffix flouro I would never fork out the cash for the G loomis, it was a gift! Save your money and buy St. Croix Avids 8-)

Mojo Bass Rods
I own 2 Mojos, a 7' MH crankbait & 6'6" MH jig-n-worm. I also own the same sizes and actions in the Avid series. Yes, the heavier actions are a little tip heavy but I still get great sensitivity and feel from the Mojos. I cant justify telling anyone not to buy these rods. 8-) St. Croix stands behind their stuff too. The crankbait rod is sooooo good for larger cranks. The 6'6" MH would be a great all around rod for those lookn for a good mid-priced rod.

Finesse Jigs
I have great success with the Jewel Eakins jig and also the boo-yah bed bug. The last 2 years they have been the only finesse jugs I have thrown. I use to fish Bitsy bugs but the skirts fall apart fast, the Eakins has a doubled skirt collar with rattle tube holes so that's why I use it so much.

Matzuo vs. Yo-Zuri
I had a 20# striper break a matzuo in half! :'( I fished a yo-zuri in the same manner, it's still producing fish a year later. I do still buy matzuo, but only on clearance and I dont expect too much from these in terms of durability.

Double Fluke Rig
Indeed! My uncle introduced me to these for catching schooling white bass, but works great for LM too!

Favorite vibrating jig/ chatter type lure
I use a 4 yr old chatterbait thats got no finish on it anymore! I replaced the cheap snap lock fastner doodad with one alot bigger. I usually fish it with a white/ gold mixed skirt and a spinnerbait trailer. I hop it slowly and even caught my profile pic bass with it, so it's even become somewhat of a confidence bait for me now. One of my buddys laughed at it, NOW HE OWNS SOME TOO! I bought some Stanley versions at GM, boasting a 40# line tie I thought they would be great, WRONG! Not one fish :-?

Worst Lure ever bought?
Whoa! My wife bought me the chatterbait kit 3-4 yrs ago and from the first cast I KEEP HAMMERING FISH ON IT! I retrieve it with slow hops and it's seen as much use as my jigs. I bought the CHATTERSHAD though, what a joke! :

what time of day
My PB came at 5:45 am :-? But other notable catches were definetely between 11-4 8-)But I catch some monster bass after sundown in the summer, so I guess I just catch fish because I pay attention to the moon phase! Is that another subject?

Worst time hooking yourself
My wife and I were waking spinnerbaits for some REALLY active bass. She got a bite just as she was about to pull the lure from the water, SHE REALLY SET THE HOOK GOOD! ;D ;DThe spinnerbait was about 6 inches from my face when I remember thinking "This is gonna hurt." :'( The lead from the head busted me accoss the bridge of the nose, the hook went INSIDE my nostril and each one of the blades left its mark over and next to my eye!! Wear your glasses when fishin boys!

DIY split grips
Ok I own 3 mojo's now and I love the handles, I know I have seen someone (I think here) make a full cork handle into a split grip. I know better than to start with my avids , so I got a lightning rod and an old abu to practice with. A lil help would greatly be appreciated! I dont even know what type of epoxy I would need to finish the blank. I know there is probably other posts about this but I searched DIY split grips and did'nt get much. Also, does anyone think this would void the warranty on my avids? Thanks!

Oblong "O" rings for crankbaits.....
The theory is that youre knot will never slip to the split in the ring, cause the split is in the straight section of the ring. I guess i bought it cause i put em on almost all my cranks ;D

Superstions?
I keep a heddon river runt from my fathers tackle box with me all the time. My dad gave me that lure when I was 12 and I dont go fishin without it! I took it out for a week once, I'll never do that again!

Hello, new here!
Hello, although I'm new here I've read the forum many times. I'm a carpenter who spends more time fishin than workin ;D 33yrs old and been fishin for bass since I can remember with my dad. (hello hula-popper)The topwater bite got me hooked for life! Like everyone else here, I am obsessed with every aspect of this lil green fish. I own at least 14 combos and the list just keeps on growing. I believe I pack about 80-100 lbs of tackle with me almost everywhere I go :-/ I live near a D*cks and GM and I think the employees all know me by name. Mostly a pond and pit fisherman but I do fish the mighty muddy OHIO, and you never know what youre gonna catch there!
