  1. Try all sorts of different retrieves until you find the one you like or should i say the one the bass like! very versatile bait one day last year on a lake the bass were so thick on a secondary point every other cast we were catching fish on these things.
  2. I work at a tackle shop and tbh I hate spooling XT onto spinning gear the stuff just doesn't seem to cooperate XL is a much softer line IMO.
  3. This is awesome to see! You always hear about these kinda things but rarely get to actually see someone win it. Awesome cause as well.
  4. I appreciate it! Mind if I ask what college you fish for and how your experiences have been fishing at the college level tournaments?
  5. So I received a 5,000 dollar a year Academic Scholarship to attend Radford University. Even though I would have loved to attend VT in the fall I understand the finical burden this money would lift off of my folk's shoulders. I know VT has an awesome Bass club and has had many outstanding finishes in the FLW tournaments. My question to any of the current college anglers on the site is do you know if Radford has a club or a team that competes? Also are all expenses paid for by the National Guard in these tournaments? Any input from a college angler or anyone who may have any valid information would be greatly appreciated!
  6. Thats neat man thanks for sharing! Pretty advanced for the time. That thing will put a hole right through a 1 inch pine board at a 100 yards d**n!

  10. I mean of course he tries to design effective baits, thats the point isnt it?
  11. As stated above age has little to do with condition of a line exposure to sunlight and other various elements are what truly corrode a line. With that being sad if it is still in decent condition by all means use it!
  12. The lake fork hyper lizard has an action like no other Imo and it makes for such a versatile bait.
  13. Those are simply amazing! I have so much respect in the artistic ability needed to create baits like these.
  14. I understand the product pushing, it's the mens lively hood. They wouldn't get any money by not publicly pushing their sponsors products.
  15. 41 bass even with no Monsters is still a blast! Congrats nice pictures.

  18. So I bought 6 new rods last week, 4 shimano claurus's and 2 shimano compre's. I finally had time to hit the pond today with these new additions. All I can say is wow I am really impressed with the quality of these rods for their price! I have had multiple all star's a W&M rod and a carrot stix and I must admit these rods fish much better than all of those. The sensitivity of these rods was really impressive. If you are in the market for a new rod definitely give these rods a look! Does anyone else here fish with these shimano rods?
  19. Just get swift creek out of the question with no public launch and grass matted up across half the lake its a bummer IMO
  20. I am going back to Texas over spring break this year. My uncle lives on Phantom so fishing that lake will be a definite. I thoroughly enjoyed my trip last summer and wanted to fish the Thursday night tournament on Phantom but couldn't compete because we had pre fished all day long. Does anyone fish the lake often? Any tips? as well are there any tournaments on the lake that anyone knows about?
  21. Smallie action there is good, I know of a guy that caught a 5.5# right at james river hs. Your deffinatelly fine to put in a jon boat.
