Possible Pb. Did It Break 7 1/2Lbs?
My PB was a 6.5lber / 23.5". Her belly was all shriveled from recently dropping her eggs I'm guessing. I wish I would have caught her when her belly was full!

It Was Raining Bass And Gators In The Glades
Thats insane! Hoppin your bait over and around gators. You definitely won't see that up here. Dodging mosquitos maybe.

Anybody Else Surprised?
Your right. Her or her family were definitely guilty of some wrong doing, whatever it was.

Anybody Else Surprised?
The so-called experts kept saying there wasn't any "smoking gun" evidence. So what is the "death smell" in her trunk and the kids DNA. I was hoping to hear a guilty verdict while listening live at work today. Just reminds me of watching the OJ verdict at work during lunch years ago. What a travesty. Hopefully she gets the maximum sentence allowed by law for the 3 charges she was found guilty on.

Nathans Hotdog Contest
The guy that took 2nd dips his buns in sugarfree fruit punch instead of water. Its just that much grosser. His face, hands, shirt and anything w/in 2 feet of him is stained bright red.

Good Medium Priced Baitcaster
Okuma cayenne $69.99 at Monster Fishing Tackle. Normally $139.99 and is a nice little reel.

Okuma's 2012 Line Up
I tried to get in on the recent curado 50e sale at ALF, but missed out. I ended up getting another cayenne at $69. If they came in a higher gear ratio I would order more. After seeing what the new curados look like I might have to decide wether to get one of the new okumas or new curados.

Killer Curado Sale!
It will be interesting to see what sizes the new ones will be available in.

Powell Max Vs. Endurance
I almost got talked into the 714. I'm glad I didn't though. I've been trying to use my 723 for plastics and its working alright, but prob. would make a better jig rod. It did work good for pitchin a plastic in and around some thick pads yesterday though. These powells have great sensitivity for what you pay for them. Can't wait to get another.

Killer Curado Sale!
I got online this morning to order one and they were out. Read on another forum that a guy called ALF and they said they sold over 250 of them on friday alone.

Okuma's 2012 Line Up
I picked up a cayenne since they've been on sale. MSRP $139.99, got one for $69. Its a nice little reel and at least has me intrigued about their new stuff.

Powell Max Vs. Endurance
I have a powell endurance 723c. Its my 1st powell and I had never even held one untill I got this. I do really like the rod, however I thought the tip was a little stiff for a MH. I talked to the owner on the phone and he stated that the endurance rods were a little stiffer than the max series of the same rating. Since I had never held one I was clueless. Also, the guides on the endu. rods are smaller apparently. I'm getting a max soon to compare. Don't get me wrong, I like my 723 and have a use for it, but I'd like to try a powell w/ a little lighter tip so I'm going to try the max series. B F, Did you find that your endu. was stiffer than your max?

Can Walleye Stocking Hurt Bass Populations?
x2. You could also head hook a shiner or fat head minnow on that jighead.

Best Pike Of 2011
Nice fish! My PB is a 40 incher. It was something I'll never forget. I was bass fishing and saw it chase and grab my shallow runnin crank bait. It was a few years back fishing with my dad. He got so excited he broke his cheapo net getting the fish in the boat.

Fish Identification (Photo Inside)
We call them sheephead up here also. A friend of mine talked me into trying one that he cooked up (and he cooks them often). It was surprisingly very good! Before that I would have never dreamed of eating one and used to laugh at people that kept them. At the time he had a plate of walleye and a plate of sheephead. The texture and taste was a little different in each, but they were equally tasty. Last summer I thought I had hooked a nice largemouth with a crankbait and it ended up being a 6lb. sheephead. The answer to someones next question is no, I didn't keep it. I don't have a livewell and didn't have a stringer with. I wish I could have kept it though.

Problems Accessing Forum
I've been using different methods to try and get on the last few days with little success. This is one of 3 times out of a hundred that I've attempted where I was able to get on. I'm also not a computer wiz by any stretch of the imagination.

Revo Mgx
I'm not a fan of EVA knobs myself. I traded a guy my EVA's off my pat. xt for some of the new lew's paddle looking knobs. They were a perfect fit and I like them much better than the EVA's.

Imx Vs Champion
The champion is a nice rod no doubt, but it isn't as good as a imx IMO.

Problems With Rapala Knot
Not a bad idea. I've had problems w/ the line sliding into the split ring when tying knots.
-
Problems With Rapala Knot
I only use the rapala knot on a fixed eye like the one on a original floater. I think the rapala knot was designed that way to give better action to the fixed eye baits. The ones w/ the split ring attached to the fixed eye already get the action because of the added split ring.

Shimano Snobs.....question
I've read posts in the past on this site that suggest that once you start spending more than $150-200, your "bang for buck" ratio starts going down. I would have to agree with this also. If a person can afford a $600 reel, more power to them. Most of the expensive reels are very nice. IMO there are a lot of really nice reels around the $100-200 range from a variety of manufacturers. I love shimano, but my pat. xt is a extremely nice reel. Okuma is making some nice baitcasters. I haven't owned a daiwa bc yet, but the prodigy I have is basically a tierra w/ cabelas stamped on it. If daiwa would make a smaller framed reel w/ a little more drag power, I'll be trying one out. The monkey never rests!

Olive Garden Bread Sticks
Bread is my weakness also, which is bad considering that I'm a type 1 diabetic.

Shimano Snobs.....question
I recently picked up a mint cond. used chronarch d7 for like $180 shipped. Otherwise I can't justify having a boatfull of them. I've fished with the citica e, cur. e7, core 50mg7, chronarch 50mg, chr. d7. The d7 and the 50mg7 are very nice reels, very smooth! I buy, use, and sell stuff frequently. Currently my baitcast arsenal consists of a chronarch d7, pflueger patriarch xt, okuma cayenne, and a cabelas prodigy. Didn't pay retail for any of them and got the cayenne and prodigy for half price. I'm planning on adding one more soon. IMO There is really no need for me to go above the curado or citica(one of which will be my next reel). The more expensive shimanos are very nice, but the curado and citica's perform as good as I need a reel to. I wouldn't have even thought of getting the d7 if it wasn't for the price I got it for.

Surprising Rain Baits?
The 1st thing that always comes to my mind is a buzzbait.
