  1. ive had the black max since the 1st of the year. it works great and all but reeling isnt smooth as the silver max and casting is more effort
  2. my silver max is effortless, and the black max is well...not so.
  3. I have two baitcasters, similar. One an Abu Garcia Black max and the other a Silver max. I got the silver max used from someone local and the black max new. The silver max feels like butter reeling in. The black max feels nowhere near the same. They are the same except the black max has a flippin switch and the silver max doesn't and the silver max has one more bearing. What can I do to make my black max feel the same? or close to?
  4. nope just weeds and open water. i love how i can rip a lipless crankbait or spinnerbait right through the weeds with braid. i should have switched a long time ago. what all techniques do you guys use braid for? ive only tried it on my swim jig, lipless cranks, and spinnerbaits
  5. i ended up taking that old line off and putting some 20# power pro on it in moss green. it casts smooth, easy, and def. outshines the normal mono i use. i also put some kvd line conditioner on it before i used it. leader or no leader in murky water?
  6. theres weeds heavily on the top in the middle of the lake and around it, the weeds are scattered on the top and bottom of the lake. black neon is my go-to t-rigged worm in 10". the water is always murky also.
  7. Ive ran out of things to use. Fishing has slowed a bit where I fish. My dad caught a 5lber yesterday and I caught one today. Couldn't pay for another bite. Air temps are in the upper 90s murky water, weeds, and shallow with deep channels.
  8. i fish in a weedy lake thats pretty murkey. how long of a leader should i use for flouro? i use mono for backing. i mainly use swim jigs, texas rigs with braid.
  9. i fish in a murkey water lake in weeds or open water...do i need a flour leader? and yes it ended up being that fireline you guys were talking about. not bad line, casts smooth and very sensitive. great hooksets also.
  10. ive heard it digs too without backing and proper drag setting. im not sure if he put any backing line on it or not but theres a leader of mono or flouro on it im sure theres backing
  11. i have no clue. it was an older fisherman who rigged it up and never used it. ive never even tried braid before so i figured it was my shot and hopefully id like it. 25lb braid alright to start with on a baitcaster? i normally use 15lb mono on all my setups.
  12. I picked up a baitcasting combo from someone local. It has braid from the previous owner. He said its 25lb and alternating green/black. Anyone know the brand?
  13. never tried them but ive been using vmc and eagle claw lazer sharp hooks. no tips being bent or anything. i know ppl will bash about the eagle claws but they catch me fish, dont rust, or bend tips.
  14. those zoom swimming flukes looks really good
  15. What do you guys use? I lost my biggest fish this morning on a strike king 1/4oz swim jig black/blue paired with a black/blue craw. The craw is demolished.
  16. culprit 10" worm red shad yum dinger 5" weightless t-rigged yum 10" worm black/red flake ive found that the culprit worms are pretty tough i can catch a few fish to one worm in some cases compared to other worms and the same goes for the dinger.
  17. my only input is that ive caught more consistently bigger fish using any sort of 10" worm red shad colored and lately black with red flake t-rigged with the lightest weight possible fished slow and occasional a nice one or two on a 5" senko weightless t-rigged. fished the 10" worm in deeper water and the senko shallower around weed beds. caught these two yesterday...one on a senko and the other on a yum 10" worm
  18. yeah that bps reel looks nice and you cant beat the price. ill have to try one out
  19. ive just started using big game because of the price of a 15# 900yd spool. it takes some breaking in and im also using kvd line conditioner. it gets easier to use. at first it seems like wire. try to use trilene xl smooth casting for the fluke in 12#
  20. Looking to add one to my other combos and my funds are limited.
  21. i pick mine up at my local dicks sporting goods $7.99
  22. ive caught a 5lb and a 3.68lb bass on allatoona this spring i live in marietta
  23. i know it has helped all my lines tremendously as far as smoothness and backlashes attacking me
  24. I usually let mine just sit for a bit. I fish weightless texas rigged tho. I throw it right in weed patches and let it do it's magic. Caught a 5lber today with my line out for a few minutes talking to someone. ha
