  1. Make a giant swimbait
  2. A couple guys were looking at one of those and I said I could see it being nice for buzzbaits/frogs or traps. They looked at me like I was weird and said it was for pitching. I thought of using it for buzz stuff and traps first so maybe I am weird.

They were hitting the shad pretty good. I got a couple 2#ers on a 6" and all the bigger fish over 4# came on the shad. Go figure

I see fish with tails sticking out there throat some times. It is fairly uncommon for me though. I just thought the carp skeleton was really cool. I could see stuff shining on the bank so I went to check and it was a pile is scales that led me to the skele.

A carp that had the worst winter of its life 5#er with a bass tail sticking out its throat.
  6. I just use normal trokar flipping hooks. I leave the hook point inside the tube though. They are so sharp they will pop through zoom super tubes and those are pretty dense and thick.
  7. As far as the difference in casting there is a lot of factors so I can't give some kind of exact number. I can say with a bait you can really get in to and let the rod load up and launch it the bb will cast farther. It seems like the bb might be a better choice for you if your are really trying to whip a bait out there. They are all nice reels and you can't really go wrong with any of them.
  8. This is basically the same principle as how you can straighten out bent up plastics. Put a cup in the microslave and dunk a bent up plastic in there to get it to go back to its original shape. I don't know of I would really want to dunk my spool though just because of the bearings. I guess if they were sealed then it shouldn't be a problem.
  9. There really is no difference between the tournament pro and tournament except really for weight like rippin said. If that is a concern of yours then go with the pro and if not save a few bucks and just get the tourney. The bb's are nice reels for applications where you are really trying to zing a bait way out there. The 2 is lew's answer to throwing big heavy baits. They had the super duty already but I think it's blah in a way cause of only having mags. I think that is why they made the 2. People don't want to backlash a 3oz bait and send $20 or even way more to the bottom of the lake.
  10. Well it's good you got that flat shad back. It's one of the best lipless money can buy.

That actually made me smile a bit. That's a good one
  12. I have never used that exact mojo bass but have others and I think they are pretty junky. Even though they are fairly cheap there are plenty of other rods that cost around that price that are actually good rods. I would personally never buy a mojo bass. I don't have the crucial you are asking about but do others and they are nice rods and very comfortable for me. They also come with a great warranty.

I hope since so many people have started using them in the past year or so there effectiveness doesn't fall off. I will keep abusing there fish catching potential al long as I can though. They draw more strikes then any other plastic I use. I am not sure how long they have been out but now they have a baby version if you are looking for a little smaller presentation
  14. The rounds one are better I think because they do pick up less junk like rippin said. I use the ones with ears tough and they become a issue I cut the ears off with pliers. You can only open the ones with ears a few times before they smash down and don't work any more. I use a hook to open them up if I have no other way to open them. I have been doing that since I was just a kid. You probably also shouldn't be biting them close since they are made of lead but I am guilty of doing that my self so...

X2 These have become my favorite bottom bait. I don't know if it is because they hold air bubbles in them but they fish love them.
  16. I don't know what line you use but if you issue is not enough give in the rod to let the fish really inhale it you can change your line you can switch to something a little stretchier.
  17. I think the secret might be don't live in the north.
  18. I think around 15 so far. Today was the nicest day we have had this year. It had been 70 all day and post frontal conditions and steady 20+ mph winds so I went for a little over a hour after work. I caught 7 today with 2 on a 5" savage gear real trout and 5 on a 5" decoy hydra tail. The biggest was 4.2# and that is my biggest this year. I have only gone out a few times for a couple hours at most each time. Every time water temps have been just above freezing with today being the exception. I hope this will be a good year but until just this week it has still been fairly cold with near freezing temps every night.
  19. Really the artic ocean? What were you even doing in the artic ocean? Do people go there to fish or is it just like a vacation type thing?
  20. Drop Shot -100 It is soooo easy to use. That's what I setup for kids and stuff because I feel it is so easy. Everywhere I fish it flat out kills them better then any thing. Size is not always great but it gets bit constantly. I think a difficulty raiting is slightly subjective to how much a person uses that technique. Some techniques require more practice but once you become proficient with them it becomes second nature. As for senkos the sing so slow weightless sometimes it is hard for me to fish cause I am the type who wants to go go go. Although I can throw a giant swimbait all day and have no issue. I think it is just the action of actually doing something even if it is slowly cranking the handle. Senkos are like a hurry up and wait bait to me. They do catch them pretty good though.
  21. I don't know about Minnesota lakes but I throw 7" 3oz swimbaits all the time in Ohio. We don't have record bass by any means except the world famous smallmouth. You just need to know where when and what baits to use. It also takes a bit of dedication to throw big baits all day. They draw that bigger bite usually and that is what I look for anymore.
  22. Swimbaits. They work everywhere pretty much.
  23. I think pretty much all reels have a mark on them for max fill line. It is usually a different color and is about 1/16" from the top. The only issue with a full spool if it makes it heavier so it is easier to backlash in my experience.
  24. It is not ME ME ME. People use them self as a example and talk in the first person. These people are actually standing up for everyone and that includes you even if you don't like them for some reason. Someone has to take a stand against things and be the voice of many no matter what the issue is. To many nowadays and just contempt to let things be even if they know its wrong. They just let it slide or look the other way.
  25. This ^^ The guy at my tackle shop showed me that trick. Put a pair on and try to look through a second pair and you can really see the difference in glasses.
