New From Ma
Welcome to the community! Great to hear that you're getting your son into it at very early age. I think mine was 4 when he started to learn...he's 7 now and I hope to keep him interested in the sport for years to come.

What Wire For Spinnerbaits?
IMHO thicker wire really kills the thump transmitted back to your rod. Thin wire really transmits vibration but gets mangled too fast, but will catch a boatload of fish, you just need an inventory of spinnerbaits...LOL...I'd say in the middle road when it comes to wire.

Dinger Vs. Senko What Do You Think?
SK Shim E Stik is my personal fav - same stick IMHO eh?

Rust On Crankbaits
As MaineBassFishin and SirSnook mention, tooth past. I haven't used the brasso as SirSnook posted but I am gonna try it out. Thank SirSnoom I've been using Bar Keepers Friend on cranks and spinner blades for stubborn spots. Works like a champ.

What Wire For Spinnerbaits?
Jannsnetcraft.com. Stay away from .051" wire, that is some tough stuff to bend and is really used for Buzzbaits.

Bladedancer?
Looks way too interesting to let it stay in the bag, I'll have to give it a whirl! I'll use both, thanks for the tip! Thanks for your input all! Derrick, If I catch one on it, I'll send it up...LOL

Looking To Create A Buying Guide For Our Members, Looking For Input
Not at all. When I made my post BassinNY didn't have any info on what his buying guide would contain. He has since clarified this. Again, I think what he's proposing to do is a great idea. My apologies for the confusion, Tom and BassinNY..

Bladedancer?
LMAO I for some reason see you getting your tacklecraft on and making something similar and posting it in the Tackle Making Forum only to have some whack job become a member for a day lambasting you for stealing her/his idea...LOL

BassinNY, please don't be offended by MHO: What you're proposing is a great idea, although many folks share the same opinion, but some differ and the differing opinions are the ones that keep the discussions alive. The other problem is that fishing products/tackle are constantly changing so by having the same questions popping up just adds to the discussion. Last thing I want to share: Redundancy is what keeps the site interesting as more and more folks become members. You can participate in the redundant threads or not, it's your choice.

Bladedancer?
We hit summer with some pretty hot temps here in the northeast and I installed an air conditioner in the window at my home. A control knob fell behind a piece of furniture and behind it I found an envelope from B.A.S.S. I think it was a membership renewal. Inside was a promotional spool of Trilene 14 lbs mono, a promotional pack of Gulp Turtleback soft plastics, some promotional literature, the 2005 Bassmaster Classic DVD and this: I've never seen it let alone fish it. I'm assuming it was an answer to the Chatterbait or vice versa, anyone ever fish it and what do you think?

Your Favorite Lure
For pure enjoyment and numbers - Spit'n Image I would guess that atleast 85% of all my topwater fish I caught came from a Spit'n Image.

Marlboro, Ma Area
Thanks guys, I'll be checking those spots out. Gramps, is Lake Williams open to fish? I thought it was posted as a no trespass zone by the town/city whatever it is?

Fat Free Shad?
The lures I got were packaged as "Excalibur". jdw174 is correct in that the FFS is manufactured by Bomber just like the Spit'n Image is manufactured by Heddon, but back in the day they were both manufactured by "Excalibur". Never the less, great deals indeed!

Fat Free Shad?
Wow, I think you wrote this as my son and I came back from DSG. I picked up a couple of Fat Free Guppys and a couple of Spit'n Images. I just saw the thread, man, what are the odds!

Spinnerbaits
NoBassPro gave you some really good advice for starting out on spinnerbait fishing IMO. For now I would keep it really simple. As far as blade colors, shapes and quantities of them: As a guilde, you can start with the basics. Color: Nickel/Siver = Clear water and clear skies. Gold/Brass = Stained - murky water and/or overcast skies. Painted blades work well in clear water situations with overcast skies, but for now I would keep it simple and use the metal blades. Shape: Willow Blades = Clear water and clear skies. Colorado = Stained - murky water and/or overcast skies How many?: I personally like single blade spinnerbaits, but double blade baits seem to be the norm. I think it's a personal preference, so you be the judge.

Marlboro, Ma Area
I'm starting a new project up in Marlboro - Solomon Pond Mall area - and would like to know of any small ponds with a decent fish population near by. I would like to do some bank fishing after work from time to time. Any help would be most appreciative. Thanks.

Drop Offs?
Helicoptering a short arm spinnerbait down...deadly! Good luck!

Eastern Ma & New England Area Fishing Reports
Hit Houghtons for a few hours in the afternoon. Shim E Sticks was the ticket with one coming off of an inline spinner believe it or not. Nothing on tubes, jigs or spinnerbaits. The water was too choppy for a topwater bite. The bite is still not aggressive and you really had to be patient before you set the hook. I watched a fish swim with my soft stick for 100 ft by the tail and I never had the chance to set the hook as he never had the hook in his mouth. The spinner bite was a light thump and kill the retrieve which turned out like a soft plastic bite where you just saw your line move. I'm heading to Buckmaster's on Monday to see if I can scare something up there.

Nba Eastern Conference Finals
You're right Rondo isn't a superstar. If memory serves me correctly, he made the All Star team because another player got hurt. KG, Paul Pierce and Ray Allen were superstars in their day, but no more. D-Wade and LeBron = Superstars. I can understand why you would want Rondo, instead of D-Wade and LeBron scoring 70 points a night, they could score 100 points if Rondo was dishing the rock to them. As far as you doing your homework, poor choice of words on my part, my apologies. I do appreciate the dialog though, it certainly keeps the games interesting from both city's perpesctive. Good luck in Game 7. Should the Heat win, I will route for them in the finals. As A C's fan, I would rather lose to the eventual champs, even though OKC has Perk playing for them.

Eastern Ma & New England Area Fishing Reports
I managed to get out today for a few hours and ended up with 3 bass and 1 pickerl all on topwater. I tried jigs and tubes and got 1 half hearted bite. The topwater bites were pretty viscious, but the jig and tube bites lately have been tail bites. I didn't take water temps, but it felt like mid-low sixties and I did see some beds, not a lot though.
