You can vary the speed by bending the wings on the blade in and out. If you bend in, then bring a BIC pen and bend around that...

Any pizza makers out there? I mean homemade dough, sauce, heck I've made mozzerella cheese in he past. Would love to hear your recipes. EDIT: Here's mine. P i z z a Dough: 65% Hydration Add Poolish 18.40 oz AP Flour 13.90 oz 4.50 oz 12.00 oz Water 7.50 fl oz 4.50 fl oz 1.00 tsp Salt 1.00 tsp 0.00 tsp 1.50 tsp Active Dry Yeast 1 1/8 tsp 3/8 tsp Make the Poolish: Combine ingredients, stir until smooth. Cover & set on counter for 11/2 hours. Refrigerate 24 hours. Remove from refrigerator and let sit @ room temperature for at least 3 hours. Try to use poolish just prior to it falling. Make the Dough: Combine remaining flour, water and yeast. Mix until combined. Cover and let it sit for 20 min (autolyse). Add salt and mix for 10 min. Remove from mixing bowl and divide into two equal portions. Let rise until doubled in size (45 min 1 hour). Sauce: 15 oz Tomato Sauce 2 Minced Garlic Cloves ½ tsp Dried Oregano ½ tsp Dried Basil Salt to Taste Crushed Red Pepper to Taste Pre-Heat Oven @ 450 Degrees Stretch dough in lightly oiled pan. Bake for 5 min. Remove from oven and add sauce, cheese and toppings. Bake pizza for 10 min and turn pizza in oven to ensure even cooking. Bake 10 more min or until cheese is bubbly and crust is golden brown. Take out of the oven and remove from pan. Coat crust with olive oil prior to cutting.

I catch a lot of stripers off the beach in ME. I'll be trying this recipe this season for sure! Thanks for sharing.

I have to agree with cadman. I don't sell but I give away to friends. If they like it and catch something with it, then it's an accomplishment from a personal standpoint. I make mostly for myself. I get a real sense of satisfaction when my lures catches fish. I don't post my lures here b/c my lures are kinda drab that appeal to the fish I catch here in the northeast and not to fisherman (my opin only), but I really enjoy lure building. You just have to make a decision as to what you want to do. I'm sure guys like cadman, GMAN, BIG M, Whittler, Fish Whitter, CCP, BoneheadJig, Vodkaman and I know I'm missing a whole host of others, get a ton of satisfaction by showcasing their lures here, and they should. They are extraordinary builders and these guys should feel proud of the work they produce and show us. It really is an honor to see the works of art here.

That's interesting. I tend to agree with chris and it sounds like the bait itself isn't sitting right in the water (tail down). I actually had a problem with a dog walker where the bait has 2 chambers and the weight got stuck in the chamber closest toward the front and wouldn't walk. I ended up fixing it, but for a lure not to work is frustrating. The bait should sit at like a 45* angle tail in the water check that. As far as getting a new prop (for GrizzerGreen and vegas79) you can get replacements at Janns Netcraft. They have a parts sizing chart in PDF format that you can match the old for the new. If you have any problems locating the chart, send a PM to me and I will help you out. Is the prop separated by 2 beads?

Try being a little more erratic with the bait. Stop & go: Try 4 cranks & stop then count to 2 or 3 or 4 or more before you start again. Maybe it's 5 cranks or 3 cranks... you get the picture. I use this presentation a lot. Twitch the rod tip: Do exactly how you retrieved, but twitch the rod tip. This will make the blade(s) flutter a little and the shirt to flare out. Sometimes it's just enough to trigger a strike. Lastly, downsize 1 blade size or even a 1/2 blade size and reel as fast as you can. Even if the bait comes out of the water and the blades clang each other. I can honestly tell you that I read about this a couple of years ago and totally dismissed it as hog wash. Last season I couldn't catch a cold one day and decided to try it. I went from fishless to about 4 or 5 in 1 hour. I actually missed 2 because I was cranking so fast I didn't feel the bite...LOL Hope this helps and good luck out there.

The book on clear water spinnerbaits is nickel willows with a transluscent skirt, but, like so many others here have said, the fish don't read the same book...LOL I've had luck with a pearl skirt and gold colorado or a gold willow. I've never had much luck with nickel blades, but up here we have more of a bluegill and perch forage base, hence the gold blades (for me anyways). I think that the added flash from a nickel blade can really turn off fish. Sometimes a white skirt with a white blade will fool them. Just go thru a process of elimination and find out what works that day. The other thing is presentation. How were you presenting your spinnerbait?

Uncle Leo is dead on (assuming you're referring to a baitcaster). Bearings are used to reduce friction between moving parts and decreases the chances from becoming worn. Depending on the reel manufacturer, a basic reel will have 2 bearings (maybe more) will be used for the spool shaft, 2 sometimes 3 for the crank shaft (1 would be the one-way bearing), and 2 for levelwind system. Any reel would overurn without all the components Uncle Leo mentioned.
