  1. I totally agree with Bassin_Fin@tic. I switch out the split ring on the rear blade bearing and add a snap which allows me to switch blades for different presentations. Good post and point you made Bassin_Fin@tic.
  2. I agree with bass or bass. My father is 72 and to be honest we never get into those conversations. One day before the super bowl he mentioned to me that he as going shopping for a wide screen LED to watch the super bowl on. His exact words were: "I'm around for 20 more years, I may as well have some fun before I die". Can't argue with that logic. You have no problem.
  3. I switch between 1/4oz and 1/2oz. 1/4oz is great for staying high in the water column at a slow retrieve and is ideal around shallow water. 1/2oz is great for deeper fishing and for fishing in a moderate wind.
  4. The sign for me was when I washed my hair in the shower one summer and the water stung my head because of a sun burn. :'( Time for hair club for men...
  5. Wel it sounds like you ended up having a productive week. That's great! Summer is right around the corner, I'm sure you'll have plenty of time to enjoy it. Good luck on the water this year.
  6. Is that a nice way of saying "jackass"? j/k ;D Not at all...LOL...He posted another doom and gloom thread not too long ago and I posted a pic of eeyore. I'll have to find that thread. EDIT: here it is http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1298907638 lynyrdsky1 is a great kid. I feel really bad that he came to Boston for about 4 days working a convention and I was unable to meet up with him.
  7. I liked it better when you made threads about John Wayne movies... ;D Man, lately you have def been like eeyore! J/K I haven't seen a week off in 5 years....enjoy while you can.

That's awesome! Do yourself a favor and don't make the sme mistake I did, shut the ceiling fans off! ;D
  9. I went by the res in Canton this morning @ about 6:30 am and it was totally iced over. I was driving back from work @ 4:00 pm and the temps outside was 70* plus. That res is now wide open. Gotta love it. I'm going on a recon mission tomorrow to check out some more watering holes. I'll be fishing soon, guys!
  10. ...and then go online and see your bank account get drained from the bait monkey...it does get dangerous. ;D
  11. I can honestly say that the only time I had the priviledge of bumping into a game warden was back in 1998. That was when you had to have you license in clear sight (pinned to your shirt or hat). I had just gotten my license and forgot all about that and thankfully, I had it my wallet. She was really nice about it. I was working a popper and she waited until I had finished my cast, asked how the fishing was and then asked me to produce my license. I asked if I should get off the water because I didn't have my license in clear sight. She told me to continue fishing because I was the only one on the pond that was catching fish...I thought that was funny...she was really cool.
  12. You can still get them @ your Town Hall, Rhino? About 3 or 4 years ago I was working in Waltham and stopped by City Hall and they said they weren't processing them anymore. Went home and tried Town Hall and they said the same thing. I've been buying online ever since. I refuse to wait for someone at Wally World to decide to work the register/desk @ the fishing section.
  13. What's up with MA now? They don't send an actual license, you have to print...no big deal...but in addition to the mandatory wildlife stamp for $5, they charge a "convenience" fee for purchasing online. I realize that it goes to a third party admin, but that's cheesey. This should be one of the last states in the union with their pockets hanging out. That's it, I couldn't get on the "weiner whiner line" today, so I did it here. LOL
  14. Try calf tail as well, it's a little softer and pulsates very nice in the water.
  15. Welcome tate...be sure and get over to the Northeast Forum section. Great to have you aboard.
  16. Very well done Nate! On the Jigs, don't be afraid to step up to a rod builders thread, like size C or D is ideal for those. The streamer is very nice looking as well. The thread you used is fine on that, just keep building up the head with extra wraps. A couple of coats of clear nail polish makes it all look perfect.
  17. I would really love to fish this, but Saturdays are totally out for me. My son will be starting baseball in the morning, and I work from 3pm-11pm on Saturdays. If this eventually gets moved to a Sunday, then please post here. I would really like to fish this. Keep a seat on a boat open for me if you can. I'll donate the boat owner with gas & refreshments. Again, if this turns into a Sunday event.
  18. Pearl spinnerbait with a single gold Oklahoma blade.
  19. Went from 10' of snow banks to none. Starting to see open water... YAAAAH HOOOH Got some more warming rain trends, so we'll see what happens!
  20. You get 5ea for real cheap. If you're not happy, I'll give you $11.00 for all five. In all honesty, just check the shippinjg and handling charge like most things! :
  21. Just found a few spots myself, grundle, I'm gettin ready myself.. BTW: I like your idea about springout bass tourny/get together that would be great!
  22. That's what they said about the passenger pigeon, too. :-[ Sorry to bust your chops. Be careful what you say, though. Call someplace paradice, kiss it goodbye. Too many people treat crappie like an inexhaustible resource and keep way too many (IMHO). Sounds like an Eagles Lyric..."The Last Resort"...so true
  23. If I go fishing, I know in my heart of hearts that I will have successful that day, BEFORE I get there. I feel that with the way I fish I can entice any strike. I also know that, if I'm getting skunked my concentration gets more intense. If I do get skunked, then it wasn't for lack of trying, I just plain got skunked. I will never let 1 day of being skunked detract from my confidence. To me, it's like losing a lure in the junk: To me, I just say..."That's fishing"...
  24. I will guess I would average 4-5 times a week. That may be a 5 hour trip or a 1 hour trip, depends on the schedule. I know what I would like to do of course.
  25. IMHO, bass are kind of like people, they will migrate towards temps that are comfortable. So, I guess to answer your question, that can mean all water column depths during any time of the season providing that there is enough O2 as well as other factors.
