  1. I believe he has 2 books now. I thought Jig Fishing Secrets was good.
  2. Got to love those cranberry bog ponds... the largie fishing on the Cape is great, but the smallie fishing is better. :-X Wow, I just learned something. I never caught a smallie down there. I'll have to look into that. Thanks Tin.
  3. The bigger LMB seem to be down the Cape area. The 15-8 LMB record was caught in Carver. I think the bigger ones are in waters where they can gorge during a herring run.
  4. I think I'd rather see that than a WAY overweight one who wears those real tight stretchy pants (like spandex) that makes their butt look like a pillow case full of door knobs. JMHO

Snow just started here. We're expecting up to 20"...
  7. I'm not sure that Vodkaman is that far off. How many more different gears can be designed that haven't been designed already and how much do you seriously think that can be expanded upon? For the most part, a reel has a helical main drive gear (for baitcasters), a worm drive gear (for baitcasters), beveled gears (for spinning reels) and spur gears for pretty much both reels. Same with bearings. These are the most basic components of a reel. The only thing your designing is added features and, like I mentioned in another post on this thread, maybe changing some "systems" to customize your own reel. Now come up with a braking system that is guaranteed not to backlash in any condition, and you will be a rich man! JMHO
  8. I have a couple of reels that I would love to make a hybrid between them. I like the levelwind system on one, but don't like the clutch assembly on it. The other has a nice clutch assembly but, I don't like the levelwind system.

  13. bilgrat, THAT'S AWESOME! My fricken brother in law was a fireman and would ... never mind. I'll trade some ravs for some of your meatballs....LOL...Happy holidays to you!
  14. I made the mistake of making homemade raviolis one year for Christmas dinner and every year since I get asked to make the ravs. I just made a hundred of them for the 15th year!... Enjoy your holiday's all!
  15. Happy holidays to you as well Big O and to all here at BR!

  21. Very nice BIG M!
  22. That's gratitude for ya. ;D Welcome back!
  23. No I haven't. I had done quite a bit of babbett. It is good but you can't do it in a Lee pot because it melts at over 1000° so it has to be heated really hot and ladeled. That's new one on me. How is that as far as price? Not trying to be a pain in the butt, but I have 1 more year of jig fishing which is like goin thru DT's.
  24. I research his last posts, and he seems like a straight up kid who loves to fish and has some nice opportunities in front of him. I PM'd him yesterday right after I posted about checking his profile in this thread, and didn't get a PM back after telling him to keep his chin up. I haven't heard back, but my guess is that he's hanging low. I suggest we let this one die and hope he comes back on another thread.
  25. Thanks GMAN. Much appreciative. I was looking up the properties on it and it seems to be lighter as well. It seems like you need to cast a 1/2 oz mold to yeild a 3/8 oz jig, you think that's about right?
