I found a Zara Spook in great condition hanging on a tree limb a few weeks ago. I'll give it a go next spring - hope I can "walk-the-dog" and nab a few fish! I love value, and a bait that cost me $0, and catches a fish, is the ultimate value ... ;D You gonna love taking the Zara for a walk. For me, a Spook Jr is the ticket. I gotta admit, in the 15 years I fished for bass, I can honestly say I I never used a Jitterbug. How sad is that.. ;D

I picked a couple up because I knew I would be fishing in some salad. I figured if I was fishing the junk then losing a buck in the junk won't bother me as much. I ended catching a lot of fish (about 12) for a half day, but the shirt was pretty much gone. I ended up tying on a new skirt, sharpened the hook and caught this years PB on it later in the season. Heck, for a buck, you can't beat it. I ended up buying about a half dozen more. I like the head design on it. It really comes thru the weeds with a single blade. MHO I do like ball bearing swivels on my spinnerbaits, personally, but those crane swivels that came with it has not been a problem with me.

It happens a lot on I-95 south just after the bridge separating NH & Maine on Labor Day weekend. At least a dozen NH troopers would circle around between the North & South bound sides nabbing the South bound motorist coming back from ME. I guess the $2.00 toll booth @ Hampton doesn't generate enough revenue.

Has anyone ever have a problem with brakes getting chewed up? I just broke down 2 baitcasters and the brakes on both are really worn down and I can't understand why. Every year at this I break my reels down for a thorough cleaning, grease and oil for the following season. I always maintain them with a "general" cleaning during the fishing season which is a wipe down and inspection/cleaning of the "brake drum" and levelwind system. There doesn't appear to be scratches or nicks on the drum, so I'm baffled.

I have not caught a fish on a buzzbait for 3 years now. I must have lost my mojo because it was the most productive topwater lure I used prior to that. Thankfully dog walkers have cured my urge for topwater fishing. HA! My buzzbait mojo is on my Christmas list for Santa. I miss the buzzbait bite.

This one is a tough one to call. The Pats are at home and coming off a win against the Steelers. The Colts have had the Pats number since '06. The Colts have injuries. The Pats secondary is young and lets up a lot of yards, which is not a good recipe against Manning. Momentum from the Steelers win and home field give the Pats a 27-24 win.
