Seaguar Abrazx- best leader line?
Orvis Leader Material http://www.orvis.com/p/mirage-tippet-material/2ffl or Seaguar Blue Label. If you wanted a spool of line that is tough as nails and to occasionally use as a leader, then Abrazx is great.

Suggestions on a new 7" SI unit
Garmins are awesome. Great images and screen. Link them with a $20 cable (when you get another). Quick draw is a great feature as well, but better for console mounted units.

With which reel would you treat yourself?
I'd buy 3-4 used TDZ's and trick them out a bit (gears, handle, drag). That way you still get 95% of the new reel performance without the "ugh, I don't want to touch the BPS reel" feeling since one of the TDZ's will be replacing it.

Fall Fishing in Vermont
ALL of the ponds have Mercury, etc. Look at Harriman Res down south, can't even eat a Rock Bass. Your boat will handle St. Albans Bay or Malletts JUST FINE.

Fall Techniques
4.8 Keitechs and a Lucky Craft Pointer SP100 will load the boat...

Fall Techniques
Same as spring, just a bit bigger. Jerkbait, Spybait, Swimbait, Jig, Chatterbait, Spinnerbait. For "ME" now is the time to really toss swimbaits. Big, slow, high protein/calories for minimal risk (on the bass' part).

Upgrading to Carbon Drag
For the cost of a bag of senkos your drag will be much improved for as long as you own that reel. I do it to all my Shimanos and Daiwas.

New Daiwa Fuego Bait Cast Reel Question
It is a Tatula without the T-wing. An Exceller is a better buy as it's the same functionally for like 1/2 the price. Exceller MIGHT palm better for you.

Who's flingin big dingers?
10" senko (custom pour) are great in muddy, weedy shallow water. Moves a ton of water without being obnoxious. Weigh 1.5oz each.

Triton Skeeter Ranger
Doubt it, that deeper V Hull will cut through waves/chop much more efficiently than the flatter bass boat hull.
-
Triton Skeeter Ranger
That's the 522 top cap on one of the 600 series hull. Totally different beast.

Triton Skeeter Ranger
the ride is mostly the driver, but yeah these can bang around in chop.

Triton Skeeter Ranger
Colin I know of a beautiful Champion 191 with a 200 Mercury efi, HDS8's 4 gallons of oil, 82lb Motor guide tm with a spare tm. Local (very local, near the cape) to you for significantly less than $15k.... Significantly... PM me if you like. Champion (and Phoenix) are awesome up on these windy New England lakes. I own an old Ranger and it's a rock. Ridden in extensively: Phoenix (amazing) Skeeter FX and ZX (hate the latches, felt hollow in rough water) Ranger 522, 521, 520c... Great rides, ball slappers though. Champion 186 and 201, classic big water taming boats. Stratos 201 (ham sandwich... Not bad, not awesome, just sort of there).

Swim jig rod
Tatula 7'2" MH regular action, is a great middle ground between a fast rod and a cranking-ish rod.
