New Mojo Bass
My family owns property on St Croix. Hence we are part owners of St Croix... same name so it's got to mean the same thing, right? And since I am a part owner of St Croix I feel the need to establish that I am in fact made of SCIII and my brother is too (same resins to boot!)... seriously they are different rods... completely different. I have spoken with 2 Pro Staffers and a Rep in Wisconsin. They are different... they have 1 component in common... that's it. This has turned into a train wreck... not your typical freight cars derailing in suburbia type... the Pakistani type where there are 100's of people riding on top. Just a big mess...

Down Scan?
I like Garmin a lot, but on a Kayak the Raymarine Dragonfly 4 DV can be had for ~$200. With the RAM mount and ease of use I would at least take a look at it.

Shipwreck Smallmouth
They're just like any other structure. They also have to have the right bottom composition, current, depth to produce enough to be worthwhile. I've caught big smallies off old motorboats, while I got rock bass off of Benedict Arnold's scuttled fleet.

Does Any1 use BPS Extreme Worm Binders?
Binders and I. "I can get one more pack in there..." 15 minutes later I have a 20lb throw pillow. I used their packaging and 3600/3700 boxes to store them.

New Casting Rod recommendations for pitchin, c-rigs, etc
Grab it... personally I would do 17-20lb fluorocarbon (Sniper or Abrazx) with a 12-17lb mono leader for the Carolina Rigs. No leader obviously for the other techniques.

Buzzing Paddle Tail Swimbaits on Top
I use Keitechs with nail weights and fish them slowly on top occasionally allowing them to drop under the pads/grass. 16+lb Flouro.

Float and Fly in a Tournament?
Have any of you ever used this technique? In a tournament? It intrigues me as an alternative to a dropshot for suspended fish and was wondering if it was worth looking into adding one to my arsenal? I know I would have to keep the rod at 8' for tournament rules. Thanks!

Daiwa Lexa 300 Type H D - For Swimbaits?
They at least used to make a 6.2:1 ratio in that reel, so you could buy the gearset for it. I like having the lower ration for the slow rolling and for the extra torque pulling some big baits through the water. The Lexa 300 is a very solid not frills reel to start swimbaiting (along with Cardiff 300 from Shimano and 5500 from Abu)

Line for small swimbaits
I have that Carolina Rig rod. If I were tossing big(ish) baits, I'd still use 20 lb mono

blackmax oil injection
Premix... ~$30 in parts. I have an 88 Black Max 150 and will be doing the premix conversion soon. The motor is simply not worth the $300 PLUS labor.

What type of casting rod do you use for your Keitech Fat impact swimbaits?
Avid 7' MHF, Dobyns 734 or 735 depending on the cover. I throw almost exclusively the 4.8 Fat, usually with a 4/0 1/16-1/4oz swimbait hook. That combo weighs .75+oz.

I'm deserving, I swear I am.

Carolina Rigs...plastic Beads or Glass? 1 or 2 beads?
Carolina rigs are like our taste in women, we all like something different. I rig in rocky, deep, zebra mussel infested areas and use: 16-20 Fluorocarbon line Spro swivel GLASS BEAD Lead or Brass cigar/MOJO shaped sinkers (1/2-1oz) 15lb mono leader (3-6') I prefer to use an offset worm hook, not ewg, when I can get away with it. I've cut lines when a tungsten sinker cracked a glass bead. Braid is almost too sensitive and you set the hook on everything.

Daiwa Fuego
Lightly used lefty models are $60-90 on ebay. One just went for $61.

Knot fail seagar red label
Switched to the San Diego Jam knot with my Fluorocarbon (Seaguar Invizx 6lb, Red Label 12lb, Abrazx 20lb, Sunline Sniper 8 & 16lb, Super Fc 8 & 14lb, Gander Mountain 15lb). NO break-offs due to knot failure.

Here's something to try.
Rig the 2.75" on a Keitech 3/8 or 1/2oz football and swim ("tick" it) along some rocky bottoms. Also a good Carolina Rig bait.
-
Spinnerbait/chatterbait rod
St Croix MOJO 7ft MHm. For all the same reasons stated above, plus it's a great super spook/pointer 128 rod. I like mine a lot.

Daiwa finally lost it
Steez= Ferrari Steez TWS= Ferrari with a bumper sticker. I'm sure it will be a winner though.

Daiwa Fuego
It's a Tatula without T-Wing. I'd get an original Fuego in good condition for less than a hundred before I thought about the current model.
-
Punch/Frog/C-Rig Rod
Dobyns 735... Fury, Savy, used Champion. I also like the Phenix Recon 766 and Lamiglas Excel 2 735.
