I just measured. a 28" diam. tube, and it cant be all that bad claustrophobia wise for me (considering im not claustrophobic), just painstakingly boring seeing nothing but tube for 20 minutes. Then again, I've never been stuck in a mine.

PQs and Carbonlites are straight up work horses. Perform great for the money, and at that price are a steal!!! I wish the sale price was longer though atleast to Black friday.

Haha believe me, I just got my Crucial and was admiring my new tool of the trade for what was probably an hour before I noticed. And when I have my contacts in my eye sight is darn near just better than 20/20. I thouht it was just me at first, but then when my dad confirmed it, I knew And Phweww!!! I was worried for a bit, but it doesnt sound like a problem now, thanks guys! 8-)

The crucial IMO doesn't belong in that category, judging by the price points of the other rods I think you may be confusing it with the Compre. But if you meant that rod to be there I have a Crucial and I couldn't be happier with it The Crucial is far superior to the other rods you listed 8-)

Elaborate? For $200, I can name a lot of other rods cheaper that I would rather have. Don't get me wrong they're good rods, but I would rather say get a Powell, or a Dobyns, another Crucial, etc etc. Also, I think the orange is just fugly. Do you own any of these rods ???????????????? Yes, I own a Crucial, i've fished a buddies Powell, and I haven't fished a Dobyns but from what everyone says, the dobyns are just as good (if not better) than the powell and the crucial, so I put it in there too. Jeez

Does this compromise my blanks strength/integrity? Even if it is probably only 3/4 mm?

I've been looking at my rods down the blank, similar to looking down the barrel of a gun, and have notice, there is always a slight curve near the tip. Do all rods have it to some degree? I store my rods properly on a rod rack without the reels, so I don't think its that. Or do all poles have slight imperfections like this.
