  1. I don't have a boat either. I start fishing when the ice melts
  2. I'm also in. Can't wait to beat you guys 8-)
  3. Weather.com says about 57 on wednesday...
  4. The AMI calc takes state into consideration, so we wont have to do it by state. And getting a video may be harder for some than taking a simple photo. I'm not so sure about a spring, summer, and fall champion. Maybe if the first one goes well! And If I get this under way, its own section or even a sticky would be really nice to help people follow it better.
  5. Maybe we could get a company/companies to sponsor such an event?
  6. By width, you nailed it. A soft rule around the chunkiest part of the bass. You seem to get my set of rules so far. I also like the payout idea in giftcards, would everyone be willing to donate a $10 gift card to a set place, like BPS or ***? A Big Bass side pot could also be factored in. And how does 1 month to get your limit sound? When would you guys like the dates to be? I was thinking May 15 - June 15 might be good. Obviously you will have to sign up before a predetermined date, and submit your catch before a predetermined date. And slonezp, I think I can do it. It may be a bit of a challenge, but I think I can handle it
  7. Sharpie markers are'n' free either! The pen works well, nice easy groove, has lasted fine so far. Haha well duh they're not free! But a fat Sharpie at the counter of Home Depot is 97 cents. Costs nothing to put a cut in the tip. I'd rather spend a dollar then $3.
  8. Why not just cut a sliver into a sharpie tip? It works fine for me, and its not 3$
  9. that sounds good They're better than Reese's IMO, and I really love Reese's!
  10. How about this. There will be Boaters and Non-boaters category if it's my contest. For each category there will be a division for every state, and within that an under 18 subdivision, and an over 18 subdividion. Every one will get assigned a number, and It must be included in the picture with your bass and its length, and would be assigned points via AMI calculator. A tie breaker would be width, so take a picture of that too. Photos should also be good enough quality and size to be able to read the tape measure. Anything else I left out?
  11. Pizza Wings Chili Dogs Nacho Platter Coca Cola and some homemade peanut butter cups. My grandma likes to cook 8-)
  12. It's not fair to put a boater against a non boater. The person with the boat can access a lot more water than a shore fisherman. ...and a guy with a $50,000 bass boat with SI/DI has an advantage over someone with a 12' jon boat with a 25lb thrust TM. ...and a guy who has the ability to fish everyday has an advantage over weekend warriors. ...and live bait out produces artificial. ...and private waters out produce public waters. ...and so on. Life isn't fair my shorebound friend ;D I've caught my 2 biggest smallmouth from shore and my biggest largemouth in less than a foot of water. The contest should be simple and to the point. Don't forget. Someone is going to have to keep track of the entries, and one person needs to have the final word. If shore fishing was just as good as boat fishing, the Pro's would shore fish at the Classic. If you have a boat you can access alot more water, and have a better chance of catching fish, let alone big fish if you can travel the whole lake, and fish the middle of it. And I like the Number in the pic Idea though 8-) And whats an AMI calculator?
  13. I think it looks pretty darn cool 8-) Matches the core perfectly!
  14. I get bps flyers about every week and a half. My mom hides 'em from me though! ;D
  15. That doesn't address ANY of the issues brought up earlier in this thread. What issues were there besides the ratio of size:location?
  16. What if we did sort of a bracket type of deal. We could have a bracket for shore only, and a bracket for boaters. Angler vs. Angler biggest fish goes on to next round, each round could be a week?
  17. What reel is that? And is that swept handle swept the wrong way?
  18. Seriously? Yep

Stylin hehehe Everyone rocks some Nike socks up here.
  20. From playing around with them at BPS I gotta get one soon too.
  21. I have the Crucial 7' M/XF and this rod excels at 3/8 ounce plastics and finesse jigs, but I also use it with spinnerbaits and topwater with good success. Also, I've never fished a Cumara, (I want to!) but the Crucials are very sensitive, even more with braid, and with the lifetime over the counter replacement policy (At most stores, its up to them really) its hard to beat Shimano, especially at their price points.
  22. No they won't. I have a Crucial with a broken tip that is about a year old and I am not getting much help. Real disapointed with Shimano guarantees right now. Take it to where you bought it, and take advantage of the lifetime over the counter replacement
  23. It likes to break. A lot. There's a reason IMO it costs 8.94 at wally world. You can use it, but It will leave a bad taste in your mouth for fluorocarbon lines. Seagaur InvizX or AbrazX , Sufix fluoro, and some others will give you much better results IMO. Maybe they have more memory than Vanish, but it will be well worth it, I even think has InvizX has less memory than Vanish.
