How do you rig a Yamamoto "Kreatrure"?
I use it mostly on a jighead. Shake2, Ike's Spike, and Spot Stalker jigheads. Haven't caught any fish on one T-rigged, and very few fished weightless.

Mayweather/Mosley
I really don't know about this one. I would have said Mayweather, until I remember Mosley knocking all the snot out of Margarito. I've been a fan of both of these great fighters. Mayweather is one of the most technically skilled fighters ever. But, Mosely just seems to keep getting better. Sugar Shane will be the best fighter Mayweather has ever faced. I'm saying no knockout, 116-112 decision win for Mosley. A lot of people don't like Floyd. I agree he is way too over the top. But, consider what he grew up with for role models. His father and uncle are both illiterate, common street thugs. It's a miracle Floyd didn't grow to be a complete freakin psycho. He is a better man then either of those two. I give him some credit for that.

When tied correctly, how reliable is a Rapala Knot?
It's not as strong as some other knots, so it will be the weak link. Nothing wrong with it though. If you're going to be using it, take the split rings off your baits, and tie right to the bait. The loose loop knot will find the gap in the split ring every time, and the line will be cut right there.

hooks for 3.5/4.5 tubes
The best hook i've found for tubes is the Owner Rig-n hook. They are shorter, for a given size, than their EWG counterparts. I carry 2/0 and 3/0 sizes. These will meet your tubing needs.

chuckle for the day
A very prestigious cardiologist died, and was given a very elaborate funeral by the hospital he worked for most of his life. A huge heart, covered in flowers stood behind the casket during the service as all the doctors from the hospital sat in awe. Following the eulogy, the heart opened, and the casket rolled inside. The heart then closed, sealing the doctor in the beautiful heart forever. At that point, one of the mourners just burst into laughter. When all eyes stared at him, he said, 'I am so sorry, I was just thinking of my own funeral. I'm a psychiatrist. The proctologist fainted.

Daiwa Cielo for bass.
Just posted on this in another thread. I bought one and have used it twice, so far. It is an excellent drop-shot rod. After the two outings I have some doubts that it would be much good for anything else. I probably shouldn't say that because I haven't tried it for anything else. But, that titanium tip is super sensitive, and super fast. But, it is also very, very soft. I intend to try it for wacky rigging small baits. It might be good for that. Might not. I will eventually try it out for the smallest and lightest applications. I assume you're asking because *** has them on sale for about half price. Great deal, if you need a dedicated drop shot rod.

Fenwick Elite Tech Drop Shot Spinning Rod
You may want to check out The Daiwa Cielo Drop-Shot rod, on sale at about half price, on ***. 6'10" med-light XX-fast spinning rod. I got one, and if you want a dedicated drop shot rod, you probably won't find a better deal anytime soon. I said dedicated drop shot rod because, after using it a couple of times, I can't see that it would be much good for anything else. Maybe for small unweighted plastics, or the very smallest of jigheads. I haven't used for any other application than drop-shotting. It is excellent for that. The titanium tip is super sensitive, and super fast. It is very light. The Cielo rods were, I think, the first rods from Daiwa to utilize the SVF graphite.

Kid joke
Quite alright. She is. Not one of the dumb ones, thankfully.

Kid joke
One of my kids asked me one day; Dad, where did I get my brains? From your mother I replied. Looking surprised at my response, he said, Really? I said, really son, I still have mine.

lightest lure on a baitcaster
I regularly throw a thin, 2.5" tube, on a light wire 1/0 hook, with a 1/32oz internal weight. The whole thing can't weigh more than 1/8oz. I use this when it's time to down-size, looking for a few bites. I'm not targeting small bass or panfish; just trying to finesse a bite from neutral bass. It's more about the rod than it is about the reel. You need a rod that will "load" when casting small weights. I use a 7' ML Kistler Helium LTA baitcast rod using #10 XL line. I can throw it as far as I ever need to. By the way, I'm doing this with a Daiwa Fuego, the reel that everybody says sucks for light weights. So much for conventional wisdom.

What does your name (Handle) mean?
Just about every forum member I've met has pronounced my "handle" Gotti; like the New York Mafioso. Not exactly what I intended. It's a play on pronunciation. GH as in rouGH O as in wOmen TI as in naTIon.

True to form...
That's a 4 pound fish, if I ever saw one. Keep in mind the fact that Burley is 4'10" tall.

Curado E7 vs. Zillion SHA
"any excuse to pick up some new gear..." That's the spirit, man. Get two of everything; that's my philosophy. ;D

Tungsten Weights
I'm with you on that GameCock. I use Ultra Steel weights for just about everything. They used to sell a small steel bead, which I prefer to glass. They have been impossible to find lately. Anybody know where to get some?

Curado E7 vs. Zillion SHA
Bronzefly hit it right on the head. Both are excellent reels. IMO, the Zillion is a better reel. I do not think the Zillion is $100 better than the Curado.

Was asked this question recently. I replied, I'm a man. I fart and I belch. I most certainly DO NOT tweet.

cajun humor
The Louisiana State Police received reports of illegal cockfights being held in the area around Crowley and sent their famous detective Boudreaux to investigate. Boudreaux reported to his sergeant the next morning. 'Dey is tree main groups in dis rooster fightin'' he began. 'Good work. Who are they?' the sergeant asked. Boudreaux replied confidently, 'de Texas Aggies, de Cajuns, and de Mafia.' Puzzled, the sergeant asked, 'How did you find that out in one night?' 'Well,' he replied, 'I went down and done seen dat rooster fight in person. I knowed dem Aggies was involved when a duck was entered in the fight.' The sergeant nodded, 'I'll buy that. But what about the others?' Boudreaux nodded knowingly, 'Well, I knowed de Cajuns was involved when summbody bet on de duck.' 'Ah,' sighed the sergeant, 'And how did you figure the Mafia was involved?' 'De duck won'.

Rapala Shad Rap
I've probably caught more fish on Shad Raps than all other cranks combined. Strong statement, I know, but I'll stand behind it. I have mostly 8's and 9's, with a few 5's and 7's. Don't overlook the Shallow Shad Rap. It's great bait, in any size. Do overlook the plastic version. It just doesn't have it, in my experience. Plus the plastic version has rattles. The original balsa Shad Rap is one of the ultimate stealth cranks, and excels in clearer water.

Figuring inches per handle turn
Two answers for you. First, the easy one. Fill the reel all the way with whatever el cheapo line you have for backing. Take it out in the yard and make a long cast. Make two or three long casts. after the last cast, with the line still out, strip off an additional 20 yards and cut it off. Tie on your flouro using back to back uni knots, and fill up the spool with the good stuff. The hard way. You'll need to calculate the volume of the torus using spool dimensions you measure. Then, using the line diameter, calculate the approximate volume of the air spaces in the filled spool. Calculate the size of the torus to be filled with good line, and subtract from the total volume. As we professors are fond of saying; the rest is left as an exercise for the student. ;D ;D ;D
-
Ceramic line guide vs. Titanium line guide on baitcast reel
I seriously doubt you could detect a difference. Titanium giving longer casts than ceramics sounds a lot like the typical undocumented marketing BS that we're all subjected to.
