  1. Very nice Shane! You are becoming a regular up there... Where did you guys put in at?
  2. Nice job Shane. You can really see the difference in weather between day one and two. Nothing like catching a bass so big you think it might be a gator! See you on the next one
  3. I would second that location. Our last tourny out there had quite a few 5+lb fish. Holeylands has a ton of bank access as well, and though I haven't been there in a few months recent tournys have been bringing in 25+lb bags.
  4. I was up there for my club tourny over the weekend and caught a pair of 8lbers on the SE side of the lake. Wind was horrible...
  5. I'm in but where is grape hammock?
  6. Not true at all in my experience... in fact sometimes quite the opposite will be true.
  7. Yes they have used excuses ranging from "flood control" to "the dams can't handle the high water" to "we are expecting a lot of rain". Simple logic doesn't apply here. The sugarcane farmers will get the water they need. If the lake gets below 10.5ft, they fire up the pumps and feed the water to them since gavity itself is not enough at that point. And when it's all said and done, the sugarcane (and other) farmers receive credit for helping clean-up the water in the everglades (they say the farm lands filter the water as it heads south). I get it.... but I just don't get it.
  8. Hate to sound cliche', but it's all about the $$$$$$. Farmers have more say on how the lake is treated than fisherman. We don't donate enough money to the right people at election time
  9. Very encouraging news. The lake sits at 10.97 right now. I don't get comfortable til 12'. Maybe next month...
  10. The area I was in the water was 1-3ft. Many areas I was able to get in before have grown over with sawgrass. Hopefully after duck season the trails will be wider again. Yea I did well in the Miami Canal as well, but L67 remains my favorite out of Holiday
  11. I caught one about three weeks ago. It was my first one in the last two years, and it was in the aerojet canal which is like ten miles from Key Largo. Oh and it was tiny...
  12. Went out to Holiday Park this am for some fun fishing. Caught 12 fish from 8a-12p. I got a few up in the flats, but I abandoned that early and ran out to the Miami Canal where I got the rest. Smallest was 1.5lb and the biggest was 4lb. Nothing to write home about but the bite is still good out there if anyone wants to have a little fun.
  13. I'd join you if I wasn't on duty dude.. Aerojet has some BIG fish in it but it's a tough bite. Good luck man and tomorrow is Friday!
  14. I'd prefer to see it desinigrate overnight. The path has changed substancially in the past few days, as well as the intensity. Hope for the best, prepare for the worst. Don't depend on the hurricane center like many people did for Andrew, anything can happen
  15. I'm pretty sure they are just messing around.. If you think bass fishing is so easy I wish you would have been out today to show me how it's done. Yes there are days when you can catch 100 fish but those are far and few. Right now fishing is tough you may be surprised when you can't catch a limit.
  16. The picture I saw looked like an 18-20ft boat with about a 200hp on it. The shot was taken from the rear so you couldn't see if it had numbers... How about a truck and trailer parked at the ramp for the last week? It is quite strange
  17. Which ramp did you use? How was the water level in reference to launching?
  18. There's really nothing in the pic to reference it's size to. But it doesn't have the jawline of a fish that's 4+. So somewhere between 1-3
  19. Well once you take care of all that stuff... and the weather, water temp, moon phase, and barometer is just perfect, we can finally admit we just suck at fishing. Some people just aren't there yet.
  20. I feel that way when I lose a five pounder... can't even imagine losing a 15+
  21. I don't know what to tell you dude I taught my son to catch bass on a senko at age seven. Just keep trying the senko it is fool proof, if they won't bite that they probably won't bite much of anything. It's not known to catch big fish, but it will almost always catch something. I don't know your experience level which is why I suggest using the senko because it's so easy to use. Try slowing down when you fish... your posts seem like your talking real fast and you probably fish the same. Yesterday was an odd day for me as well, the bite was very lazy, and I was dead sticking flukes just to get a bite. The fish change day to day and sometimes hour to hour. If you were home by 11 to post about your trip, you gave up to early, the best bite sometimes doesn't come til afternoon.
