  1. Hold on!! That extra piece is as @Dirtyeggroll and @Cattexplained. It is "intended" to be ripped off as it's just there to hold the flanged tail. But being the renegade I am, I separate it from the tail but leave the end attached to the body. That thin little piece gives it a little more action when rigged tail down as intended for swimming. Try it both ways,,you'll see what I mean Mike
  2. Ditto Mike
  3. Toadskinz..Had them for a few years and very pleased Mike
  4. I didn't realize that what I wear to go fishin determined if I had any "fashion sense"! Especially if the color of my ensemble determined if I was manly or not!! First guys we're concerned if the color of thier reel matched the rod, now the color of my shirt matters if I'm "manly" !!! nap time Mike
  5. Frog Toggs are light weight and reasonable I like bibs cause I can take the jacket off and still be fairly cool. Mike

  12. You Too?? I can still feel that ruler across my nuckles!! Mike
  13. Yes You'd lose a little distance but the heavier backbone should be the deciding factor. Mike
  14. I'm not familiar with the action of an Ugly Stick but if it were me and frog fishing in the pads or surface matted grass I'd use the heavy. That said I have a few m/h rods that fish like a heavy and wouldn't hesitate to use them for punching or frogs. The difference in the length wouldn't be that much of a factor. Use the ratings of the rod as an indication but not gospel. Mike

  16. As @QUAKEnSHAKE stated, to some people just the idea of going fishing is "unethical" To single out bed fishing while practicing catch and release is wrong. Is baiting a deer and sitting 20 ft up in tree waiting for it to walk by to kill it unethical?? As I stated earlier, I will work a bed on and off for an hour if I have to, especially in a tournament. Mike
  17. Don't know how much time you're giving it but I've spent over an hour on 1 fish many times in 10-15 min increments. I always use a white lizard or craw type plastic pitching past the bed and slowly bringing it up and in. How I work it, if at all depends on her mood. If she just looks at it and leaves quick when she comes back I'll just twitch it all the way to the back side, varying the time between them. If she shows interest and gets close without taking it, I'll be more aggressive with its movement. Sometimes you gotta just give it time. How much depends on her. Sometimes all you need to do is leave her alone awhile and come back from a different angle. Mike
  18. Ahhh I'm so so sorry Coach. May He Rest In Peace. Condolenses from my family to his. Mike
  19. I don't care who makes it. For me Tatsu is the best for sure, Sniper is superior to InvisX in every way Mike
  20. Manns Jelly worm Rage Recon for swimming it on down. Mike
  21. Ditto I also remember that after hooking my last 2 PB fish I noticed an immediate and hard head shake, and when they got within 5 ft of the boat they headed straight down. Whereas the head shake on the smaller ones say 4 lbs and down wasn't as pronounced and they rarely went straight down within eye sight of the boat. Mike
  22. Impossible to definitively say. I caught my PB on 7" fat max ribbon tail but comparing the 2 I'll catch more numbers on a weightless Senko. Its like anything else in fishing they'll hit what they want when they want to hit it. Mike
  23. I always wait until the ripples dissipate for all floating top waters before I move it. As far as dead sticking is concerned, I usually let the water temp dictate the time. The colder the water the longer it sits. But usually no more than 30 seconds but there have been times I'll let it sit more than minute. Mike
