  1. That feeling doesn't go away. Everytime she comes home and then leaves, it starts again. Mike
  2. It's the amount of "likes" you get for a topic you respond to. Mike
  3. Same as I would if it were light rain. I make no distinction between the two. The only exception would be after a prolonged heavy rain that raises the water level, I MAY start shallower in areas not accessible before. Mike
  4. T Rig plastics of all kinds. I concentrated on the different techniques involved from just dragging a small worm to flippin, pitching and punching. Mike
  5. Thanks Pal! Sometimes I'm not sure! ?
  6. I know the feeling. It's 49 today for me! Mike
  7. It's all up hill from here! ? Mike
  8. Agree and like it! In smaller leagues the 1$ bid makes more sense. Mike
  9. I don't buy rods because of who makes em. I buy based on past experience, action, power, rod and handle length for what I need it for. That said..Older Fenwick's, and Falcon's and newer Loomis and Falcon rods seem to cover all my needs. Mike
  10. Yep! I remember for years I would stop and try to listen for them. I was told that the hoot from an owl would call the fish up from deep water. Mike
  11. Forgot about that!!! Mike
  12. "It's not a lie if you believe it" Mike
  13. Always start with a frog NO Bananas...ever No fish on first cast Mike
  14. If you're worried about it, and have a card from them and the account number they're referring to matches, go to 7 11 and buy a slurpee. Wait 10 minutes and call them useing the number on your last statement to see if they show it. If so you're good. Mike
  15. Some of my wife's perfume doesn't smell that great but I won't bury her in the garden! ? Just fish 'em Mike
  16. I don't know how you guys use that small of hooks! ? I don't even own anything less than a 4/0. Mike
  17. 4/0 skip gap for regular size, 5/0 Gammy ewg for the magnum. Mike
  18. If you know you're hooked up, change the angle of your retrieve by moving the boat around. Most times by pulling straight up with just a little light pressure after pulling the opposite way she'll get herself out. Mike
  19. Chris It really isn't. Even tho They don't get a lot of play on this board, don't let that stop you from trying one. Mike
  20. I use The entire Scum line of frogs. To me there are none better. Mike
  21. For that presentation I use 20# Shooter. Imho, It has the best abrasion resistance of any flouro line and a perfect fit for what you want to do. Knot strength is excellent if tied right as most other flouro lines are. It's a little pricier than others, but you get what you pay for. Mike
  22. Hey no problem! What are friends for! Mike
  23. The Lake can be intimidating, especially with no real plan on where to go, how to get there or what to do when you arrive. I'm on the Lake more than any other so believe me when I say that every weed and reed line, shell bottom, pad area, hydrilla mat etc. looks the same. You'd swear every 10 ft would hold fish...And in some areas they do, and some not. The thing about Okeechobee is that you can go to the same spot a month apart and it would be totally changed. Sure, you can ride around and junk fish all day and hope for the best if that's your thing. It takes years to learn that Lake and even then without understanding its nuances of where and when the fish move given the time of year, moon phase, water level, clarity, weather conditions leading up to your trip etc. etc. You'd be better served to hire a guide and watch and listen to every thing he says and does. Do search on here. I posted a while back a list of the ones I've personally fished with in tournaments over the years. The Big O is an amazing place. When they say that any one cast can be the fish of a lifetime, they were talking about Okeechobee. Good Luck Mike
  24. With all do respect... Do some research Mike
