You guys crack me up!! OP No, it doesn't matter. I have 1/2 doz or so 3/4-1 1/2 oz punch weights and a few red hooks that are chipped and don't hesitate to use either. If you're really concerned about it, you can paint them with nail polish then coat with some clear epoxy. Mike
