  1. Because it probably cost them .50 to produce a bag Then when they sell 5 bags at a time to thousands of us at a time, they have no complaints. Mike
  2. Tried them all at one time or another....Rod Glove Mike
  3. No doubt..You will be. Mike
  4. 3/0 also. Zoom or Rage.. With a small 3/0 rigging either way will work Mike
  5. Ditto If it was completely devoid of fish just 2-3 yrs ago and then re stocked, kinda surprised you have any 2# fish in the there let alone any thing bigger. Give it time. Mike
  6. Nope...Rage Tail and the majority of the Reaction Innovations line. Especially the Sweet Beaver and Skinny Dipper Mike
  7. God I miss Harry Carey! Mike
  8. I fish as a co angler in many tournaments during the year. 3 national circuit's, a local club and as many charity ones as I can. 99% of the time the center console units are left on, even if the boat has a bow mounted unit. If there isn't one I'm constantly calling out any bottom changes, temp etc. Regardless if we're in direct competition or not. I feel It's just the right thing to do. Mike
  9. If you fish tournaments as a co angler on the same body of water for years, do it year round, and are paired with a different boater each time, theoretically you've hit every productive spot on that lake one time or another. If you have a great memory you have an IDEA of where to go in every AREA of the lake. Now, unless you carried a hand held gps unit in your pocket and punched numbers at all the productive spots...holes, rock piles, lay downs, a certain brush pile or dock (you better hope I don't catch you) you're still fishing an AREA. Your chances of catching fish are the same as everyone else's given the same level of skill. So now you have a boat, you don't have to rely on anyone else to put you on fish...Do you just flounder around and junk fish all day hoping to stumble on a SPOT that noone has ever fished while having this wealth of knowledge in your head?? Tough question. You know where to go because you were there, but you were only there because someone else brought you there. How would you feel...Me, I'd go find my own water and make it my own. Mike
  10. The conventional thinking is that the frog bite dies when the sun gets over the trees, or at a predetermined water temp.. While those may be true in some parts of the land, it's not true in others. Some say that a drop shot is a deep water presentation, is that true? Again depends on too many things. IMHO, If you learn your water and the changes it goes through during the year you may be surprised at what will work when you least expect it. Mike
  11. Zoom speed worms or Lizards for C Rig Rage Stucture Bug or Sweet Beaver for Swinging Mike
  12. Pretentious Huh!! We earned that right Mike
  13. I like the 49er or Ice Breaker. The lighter colored belly makes them look more like a shiner which is their food of choice down here. Mike
  14. Darn right! Don't discount these guy's just because you always have. (I got a feelin....) Mike
  15. Break it down even further, I agree a plastic worm type bait is the "best" all time...But which you ask?? For me it's the Sluggo Mike
  16. Glad you got your first, even if it had to be at the Meatballs expense.
  17. Well Jrob we gave it a shot and came closer than I thought we would by being tied going into tonight's game, especially without having any QB points! Mike
  18. Really! I didn't realize that. Oh Well, It may still work out Thanks Mike
  19. Trying to drop Luck and add another QB but it keeps telling me "Can't Drop" Don't get it!
  20. You're exactly right. I didn't think of it that way. My intent was to help not to over complicate the buying decision. Mike
  21. All interesting to know and good reading on a slow day, but to me it really doesn't matter what it's made of. I worry more about how it feels and fishes for what I tie on.. I know what I like, and what would be more advantageous for what I want to throw at any given time. If looking for a cranking rod I know I want a glass or composite, all else is Graphite. All I need to know. Mike
  22. As you've already been told no matter what you throw, do it slow. I'd start out with maybe a suspending jerk bait, a short compact plastic of your choice dragged slow along the bottom, dead sticking every few feet. Mike
  23. Well I'm the opposite... I'm gonna try to Think a little harder and longer about changing baits as often as I do when things slow down. I have a tendency to rush to judgment when trying to pinpoint a pattern which usually means I end up not letting the fish tell me what they want and end up missing it. Mike
  24. Why do you guys keep replying when the OP posts are obviously not intended to give advise, share what he's learned, or just join in a conversation? It seems to me the intent is to elicit a reaction, sit back and giggle..Nothing else. I left the playground years ago. Done here Mike
