  1. Gino.. Never used Blakemoores, but Whatever you use try soaking a nylon sock instead of a rag, you'll use a lot less and get the same coverage. Mike

  4. First of all let me say that I am not a boater, never have been. But I fish in more tournaments in a year than most people I know. Let me give you a few comments if I may... You've gotten some good advise from boaters about what they feel is important to them, follow the specific's they addressed. Don't put undo pressure on yourself and over think everything you do... You have no control over anything unless they ask, if they do, be honest. Don't think that it's thier responsibility to put you fish, it's not. Fish your own water. Let the depth, cover, clarity, and your strengths dictate your choices... Don't worry about what he's doing... Don't get frustrated and doubt everything you're doing because he's catching fish and you're not. If there is one thing that almost universally every boater will demand from you is Respect. Respect for his boat, equipment, space and time. Good Luck Mike

Plus...Don't let anyone tell you that in Florida "the frog bite dies once the sun comes over the trees" I heard that one time from a boater I was with on the St.Johns River about 9:00 one time and couldn't believe that when we headed in I still had the same rod in my hand. Mike
  12. Yeah Right! You're my hero. Mike
  13. Allways.. I only use #65 or 80# braid for punching and 30# on my frog/swimbait setups. While not actually "needed" for manageability, which most people use it for on other types of line, myself Included, I use it on braid because I'm convinced it helps the line come through very heavy vegetation cleaner and easier. It also makes it easier to pull a backlash or wind knot out and cuts down on the "whine" I get useing the 65# on my micro guide punch rod. Most folks on here will argue that there is no reason to use a conditioner of any sort on braid, and in most instances it's not. But for where and how I fish with braid it's just another "tool" to make my life easier. Mike
  14. Pretty much sums that up! Mike
  15. I hope all you guy's post your results..I'm sure I'm not the only one interested to know. Mike

  18. Mmmm Everyone is different. I use L&L on everything. (Except mono as I don't use it anymore) I use 14 lb Sniper on My dedicated plastics rod and really haven't had a problem. Never used 16# tho.. Mike
  19. Whew!! There are so many ways to answer this there really isn't a starting point. There are literally hundreds of threads on here that will answer your questions with a lot more depth and insight that I can give.. But, I'll at least start... Not knowing what the water is like in your lake...clean. stained, deep, shallow, rocks, vegetation, pads, reeds, grass, docks etc. Do you fish from a boat or do you walk the shore?? See what I mean? If it were me and knowing that worms already work, I'd concentrate on those first. Try different sizes, shapes and colors. There are thousands of choices. Throw a T rig all over the place. Drag, hop and swim it to see what they want on any given day in the type of water you're fishing. If you have thick vegetation peg the weight to the hook and try that switching to a small, sleek craw type bait with a lot of appendages. Grab a spinner/chatterbait, a small sq bill crank bait, rig a drop shot in deep water, and of course don't leave without throwing a jig. You asked an open ended question there Pal, I can't give you a definative answer because there isn't one. Try them all over your next few outings and see what happens. It really wont take long. Good Luck and Welcome Mike
  20. As they say.. "Sometimes, timing is everything" Still remains to be seen how lucky we really are. But I like our chances...We'll see Mike
  21. Figured there'd be run on rb's early as there usually is and there was. Took Luck first because of the threat of Brady's suspension at the time and when Brady was still there in the 10th...Well I just got lucky. Mike
