  1. The Cannoli's and Sfogliatella's are usually half gone before the Turkey comes out of oven!! Mike
  2. In this order.... * Garlic bread with melted provolone cheese and a slice of tomato. * 2 Turkeys cooked in the oven the old fashioned way. * Stuffing * Lasagna * Mashed potatoes * Sweet potatoes * Tomatoe Salad * Pasta salad * 2 different vegtables * Home made Italian bread * Home made Italian pastries * Red wine Mike
  3. I have an E, G, an I and a Chronarch 100 sf. Other will disagree, But If I needed one to bomb a cast I'd take the Chronarch... Needed one for close in heavy work I'd chose the G... If I had to use just one for all day casting I'd chose the I... However, if I was to buy another I'd look for a new unused Japanese made E and pay whatever they wanted. Mike
  4. As you look around your dinner table, not only give thanks for the ones there with you, but also for the ones who have past from your sight, but not from your heart. Happy Thanksgiving to you all From my family to yours Mike
  5. I do that now in a local club. If I was starting out and had choice, that format would be my last choice. OP, Absolutely find a local club. IMHO Preferably one that you are not in direct Competition with your boater. You'll learn more without putting undue pressure on yourself. Mike
  6. Good enough for me...Thanks Mike
  7. As with all bladed top waters I high stick, start reeling then lower the rod. It'll get it up quick and leave it there. But be prepared because you won't be in a position to immediately tighten up. Mike
  8. Thanks Fella's Always looking for something I've never used that others like. Mike
  9. I've never used them. When I was a kid my Dad would put a worm on and say "here, go catch a fish" What is it about them that you guys like so much over a mainstream plastic worm by the most popular current manufacturers? There has to be something more than just nostalgia. Just wondering. Mike
  10. I've always used original Power Pro. Tried Kanzen but found it a little too "course" for my liking. Went back to the Power Pro and have no plans to try something else again. Mike
  11. I prefer micro guides for punching matt's and for fishing in heavy cover. I think They give a little more sensativity and little more pitching distance with less effort due to the lack of line slap. Mike
  12. If those ponds are inter connected that's why you're stuggling. They're moving in and out based on when and how thier food chain moves. You're just gonna have to chase them down. If your area is anything like mine down here... The ones with the most vegetation should be the summer hot spot. The deeper ones should hold fish in the winter. The older ones with a more settled and firm bottom would be best during the spring and fall transition.. Good Luck Mike
  13. I know that name for some reason.... Thanks anyway for posting it. Mike
  14. Because all finesse plastics sold aren't designed just for a straight stand up presentation. I would say that the vast majority of finesse style baits aren't fished with a Shakey head or drop shot. Most are bought to be T rigged, dragged, hopped, swam or dead sticked. There are plastics that are best suited for a drop shot or shaky head that have no salt, or have infused air pockets.. I rarely use those types of presentations so I can't give you a recommendation, but I'm sure someone will be along to give you a few. Mike
  15. Wow A-Jay!! My fingers would be useless after typing all that! 'Nuff Said Mike
  16. God Bless You Dwight...Stay strong, and kick it's Ass!! Your Pal, Mike
  17. I haven't drank liquor of any kind since 4th of July weekend 1973. I have unopened, sealed bottles of Canadian Club, Wild Turkey, Jack Daniels, Jim Beam, Black and White, Lord Calvert and various liqueur's... And 2 bottles of Crown Royal still in thier blue velvet bag. They all probably taste like varnish but I keep them anyway. Mike
  18. I take 6, but at the pairings meeting I alway ask if 6 is ok and have never been told no regardless of the size of thier boat. All casting... 7'3" H/Xf for punching 7'2" Mh/F spinnerbait/chatterbait 7' H/F frog/swimbait 7'2" MH/F jig 2- 7'2" plastic rods Sometimes depending on the bite 1 is all I use, but I take them all. Rarely do I bring a spinning rod. If I do I substitute one of the plastics combo. Mike
  19. They're called flippin hooks because they are heavier, thicker and usually sharper than a standard T rig hook we use every day. Now, that being said can or should we use a lighter wire hook for flippin?? Sure, there was a time we didn't know any better. It's just another tool in your box that if you think you need, such as in heavy cover, you have it. Mike
  20. Turkey and Pasta baby!! Give me a place to lay down and leave me alone for an hour Mike
  21. Mike So sorry to here this...Please tell her Jeannie and I are praying for a complete and total recovery. Stay strong. Mike
