  1. What I use is a 7ft Phenix X11 composite rod with a Johnny Morris Sig reel spooled with 12# Yo Zuri. The rod is rated for 3oz so it has a lot of backbone for deep diver's but still light, nimble and soft enough for deep fishin including sq. bills. You didn't say what price range you're looking for. The X Series is $150+ but well, well worth it imho. Good Luck Mike
  2. All my jigs have rattles. I look at it this way....A jig is supposed to mimic a craw, a craw will still make thier distinctive sound no matter if the water is clear, stained or muddy, so in my feable little mind there is no reason not too. But that's me Mike
  3. Not bad from a California guy! Mike
  4. My spinnerbait catch rate has skyrocketed this year also especially ripping through dying Kissimmee grass. A white/Chartuese skirt w/silver blades. Mike
  5. Use all your knowledge, expertise, experience and any networking contacts you've made and Im sure you'll find a satisfying work place that will make you feel appreciated and repected. Sometimes it takes more time to find the right fit. Good Luck Mike
  6. Yep.. Pretty much it.. Mike
  7. They know they're the undisputed big dog where they live. They were satisfied and had no interest in a meal at that time. But show weakness or try to run on your own...They got ya! Mike
  8. Dont have anything to say that hasn't already been said. Other than.... Rest In Peace Mike

  12. All owners, Check your e mails... Repond there or pm here. All offers considered Mike
  13. Thanks... I was thinking about switching from 30# PP, (which has performed well) to 50# Kansen on my Frog/Swimbait combo.. It's just a confidence thing. Thanks for the advise. Mike
  14. The only Seaguar I've used is Invisex, then switched to Sniper. I won't be going back. Mike
  15. I start as far back on the matt as I can and work my way out trying to make each pitch about 3 ft apart all the way out. Then make 2 or 3 on the outside edge. Then move 4-5ft over and repeat until the entire matt is covered. How many that is, is what it is. I'm answering this way because the pitch count don't mean a thing, it's covering the whole matt. Mike
  16. It's real easy to get more height than distance on an over the shoulder bomb. Especially if you're really throwing hard TRYING to get the distance instead of letting the rod and a properly set reel give you all it can give, which is all you're gonna get. Good Luck Mike
  17. Thanks Fella's Mike
  18. In some circles I'm considered an old man...well maybe in all circles. Anyway, the only thing that hurts on me is my back after standing, and stepping up and down on the deck for 8 hrs. If your shoulder hurts from casting all day my thought is that the angle of your arm on your downward stroke may be at an angle that is pulling your muscles in a way they're not designed to do. After you heal, try casting with more of a 3/4 side arm, or an underarm flick type delivery. Most times if my reel is set right I can get more distance with those kinds of casts than an over the head bomb.. Just a thought. Mike
  19. Yes sireee. IMHO, Pit Boss And Sweet Beaver are the best punching baits you can buy. Mike
  20. Anyone use this braid? I did a few years ago and it seemed a little too coarse for my likeing. Mike
  21. Love it when a league is this tight, makes you think a little more about every line up decision. This is where bye week replacements matter. Mike
  22. At 1:01 is why I use them, but only on my plastics rods. Especially on the punch setup. Mike
  23. I guess I'm missing something.. For years I've just used a tex posed keel weighted twist lock hook, or a standard hook with either a pegged weight or bullet shaped glass bead depending on the depth of the grass I want to fish it through. I've seen the jig head, but didn't see any advantage to it over what I do. Mike
