  2. Farmer has it right..don't over think it. What I try to do is throw a small non popping Scum Frog in vegetation.... A Live target popping one in scattered grass and along weed lines. Mike

  4. Personally I don't care what it's like, I just want to go fishin!! Mike
  5. I'm going to assume you were "paired" with boater for your tournament either through drawing of names at ramdom or by a showing of hands to determine who you were to fish with. The boater was probably fishing from the front and you from the rear and you were respectful of his fishing area, his space, his equipment and his boat. All of which made you "really good at pair fishing" because you were "paired" together. They were paying you a compliment Mike
  6. Gonna be down right chilly Fellas Mid 30's low 40's for a few nights!! Whew Mike
  7. Agree... A little once in while will help the braid keep its color tho. At least Power Pro it will. Mike
  8. Down here Always start with a frog. In the winter with cooler temps start with a small one over grass walking through holes... As it warms the size and retrieve increases...Along with different types of topwater mixed in. No reason not to throw spooks, props, Buzz baits etc any time of the year or day. I woudnt know first hand, but I would think Louisiana fishing cant be much different than No or Central Fla at certain times of the year. So Fla different story. Mike
  9. Think positive Bud, I'm feeling lucky!! Mike
  10. Ok Mike
  11. J I have never used a hook that big for a fluke, you obviously dont think it inhibit's the action... Mmmmm, got me thinking now. Mike
  12. Sure! I'll tell Jeannie, she can sit at one of them for hours!, I'll be belly up to a craps table all night. You want the whole 50 on one machine or spead out? Mike
  13. I'm going Sunday myself before we leave for Tunica. There's gotta be a bps around Dallas area somewhere. Gotta get another life vest in case Mrs Mike decides to fish and some tubes. I hear thats the ticket for smallies. Mike
  14. English, but I know all of the Italian cuss words and hand signs. Mike
  15. 3/0 or 4/0 off set straight shank hook or 1/0 2/0 circle hook if nose hooking. All depending on size Mike
  16. A paddle tail swim bait of your choice as a trailer works grest also. Mike
  17. As others have said wait till it warms a little where you're at, then rig it different ways... Nose hook it, add a nail weight toward the nose or back for a different look. I'm sure you'll find out what they want in a hurry. Mike
  18. Exactlly right On my grandsons Zebco it came with I believe 8#, I took it off and put 20# braid on it and after about 1/2 doz trips it started to fray. Mike
  19. During tournaments I've had boaters leave an area after 5 cast's, while some wouldn't move 50 yds in an entire day. Most of the time 30-45 min is about average. If Im with friends just messin around we'll move after we've tried what we wanted too, changing baits based on what we're seeing and where we're at. Mike
  20. No whistling on the boat while fishing... Never step on a boat with your left foot... Never, Ever change the name of a boat without paying homage to King Neptune (Scratch the new name onto a piece of metal and throw it off the bow) Mike
  21. As for the Saturday night entertainment, would anyone be interested in watching the world famous Ghoti, Dinky, and Long Mike belly-dance? In the interests of preserving modesty, we will be fully clad in our thong bathing suits.
  22. You know your body...Me, I have a very light dinner the night before and no breakfast. But Ill probably have 1/2 pot of cofffee before we launch and usually I'll bring a thermos. I'll bring an energy bar or one of those lunchable things to munch on during the day..that's it, but like I said you know your body. Ive had boaters who found a secluded beach area to go, or just stradled the trolling motor shaft. For #1, the boater will go off the bow, You will have to wait till the wind and chop dies and like what was said, stand as far back as you can and hold on to the big motor with one hand. Word of caution tho...Make sure the boater isnt about to hit the trolling motor.
  23. Sounds great, Thanks Chris Mike
  24. What about Thursday? Are we on our own?? Mike
  25. Well I'll tell ya Pal I have even known to partake in the manly art of table game wagering!! (If that's allowed). Mike
