  1. You guy's sound like a couple of Sandbaggers to me! Mike
  2. Good Luck Let us know how you did Mike
  3. I prefer 100% payout paying down approx 25% or more of the field. If it's a charity tourn it doesnt matter..100% should be donated. Mike
  4. I use a palomar for all braid applications and never had a slipping problem including all types of top warer baits. Im sure a loop knot of some kind will hold tho, I dont know which but I'm sure someone will be along and post it. As far as walking a frog is concerned bassin is addicting is right. If you shorten the legs about an inch or so, that will make the frog off balance and it'll walk a lot easier. However no matter what you do to it, you still have to use the rod to make it walk. When it comes off the mat into open water, or into open holes in the mat itself, kill it for a few seconds. Twitch the rod but only on a slack line, only useing the reel to pick line up. I use Scum frogs mostly, they dont have the 2 long tails hanging off the end, and that thing will walk in place nicely if you wanted to do that also. Mike
  5. If you love flippin and pitching you're gonna love living in Florida. There are times when that is all you'll do, all day long. I wouldn't redo anything. 65 lb braid for punching and for flippin heavy grassy areas is ideal for down here. Some guys I know won't use anything else, a few swear by 80#. I'm a co angler so I need to be flexible. I use 50# but that double's as my soft swim bait setup also. I use 20# floro on my jig rod which is the only technique specific combo I use. For lighter plastics t-rigs and Florida rigs I use 15# floro. The only time I'll use a leader is on a spinning outfit. Mike
  6. Mike Not knowing the contours or bottom composition other than weedy areas, I would start with a frog or a fluke/senko type stick bait through the weeds. As it gets laler try a spinnerbait/chatterbait, and a sq bill along edge or in sparse grass areas. A swim bait across submerged grass dropping in open holes can be deadly. Dont forget to try some soft plastics and of course jigs. Mike
  7. Annaconda's and Thumper. Mike

Well that kinda says it right there. Mike
  9. 1 piece for me. I had a 2 piece come apart one time after casting and that was it. (It was probably my fault for not checking it first) Mike
  10. Agree, No leader if you're punching. Mike
  11. Team format....My partner, payout, lakes on the schedule (prefferably different lakes each time as opposed to the same one every month) date Draw format...Payout, lakes on the schedule (see above) date. Also for both format's if there is an opportunity to qualify to compete at a higher level within the tournament itself, both locally and state levels... i.e. BFL, TBF, BASS Nations, Team Trails Mike
  12. I've found that by laying the line in the first crease of the index finger, as opposed to on the finger tip increased my sensitivity. The rods I use have an exposed blank at the reel seat and thought like you that I can feel all that can be felt....I was wrong Mike
  13. Thanks Brian Matter of fact I'm going this weekend to get a new life jacket. Even if Mrs Mike doesnt get to fish, It's a good excuse to get a new one. Mike
  14. I dont have a boat so everything gets stored in the garage on a roll away vertical rack. Drags are backed off and reels are covered. All tackle and lure boxes are removed from the bag, and left open for a day. All tied on hooks and hard baits are cut off. Mike

  16. I'll go with those numbers too Mike
  17. Mmmmm Good suggestion, Thanks Mike
  18. Depending where you put in Id hit Arbuckle on the North end, Big Island in the middle, and Bumble Bee farther south. The go home and pass out. Good Luck Mike
  19. I use a Phenix M1 m/xf spinning rod with a 2500 symtere for both wacky and shaky presentations. 20# pp with 12 # floro leader tied with a uni-uni. I really like that setup unless it's unusually windy, then not so much. Mike
  20. I have this same thing happen everytime I visit my grandkids in Tex. Im here now and took the 10 and 6 yr old last night to a pond in the subdivision they live in and we always have the same conversation. I rigged a wacky worm on a 2/0 circle hook and gave it to the 6 yr old and told him to just start reeling when he feels a pull...He said "but Papa you pull up first, I want to do that too" I asked him if he wanted to catch a fish or play with it..He said "I want to do what you do" !!! Mike
  21. If your plant uses amonia as a cutter, then yep I'll vote for you.... That stuff will knock ya down!!! Mike
  22. Im very sorry to hear this. Fishing buddies can be closer than brothers. May he rest in peace Mike
  23. A cheap cigar should do it. Seriously, if the baking soda doesnt do it the seats, carpet, mats and headliner may have to be shampooed. That may be the only way. If not take it back to the dealer, that cant be the only car that has happened too, they may have a solution. Mike Mike
  24. This would really tick me off, especially happening a second time. Me? Id contact 13 direct, express your annoyance and displeasure, and sent it back to them. Get the persons name you talk to and if you dont get satisfaction from them in a timely and professional manner Id take it higher. Like most have said, its gotta be right...maybe not every time because things happen, but it shouldn't take more than once. Ok I feel better. Mike
  25. Mmmm, Ive seen those but never used them. Something to think about, thanks for mentioning. Mike
