  2. An old family recipe, Anise and baby oil...25% / 75% Try it, I think you'll be surprised. Mike
  3. Cent brakes slow down the spool at the beginning of the cast where if it's gonna backlash on you thats when it will be, and then backs off slowly as the force of the cast slows which helps with distance. Mag brakes do nothing for that. It stops the spool at the end of the cast to help backlashes at that point. With time you can do the same with your thumb. I only use a mag brake reel for flippin and pitchin. Mike
  4. Ditto Add me to the list also pease! Mike
  5. Man if there ever was an explanation of what I do, this is it!! Mike
  6. Brush Hog especially, but allmost anything with some kind of flapper appendage heavy enough that won't float. Mike
  7. It sure is...It proves AGAIN... As much as we think we know, sometimes we're not as smart as we think we are! Thanks for posting Glenn Mike

  9. I was thinking about the Recon or the new model for a dedicated crank rod. I may have to think a little harder Thanks Mike
  10. I can't say it any better than what Papa said. You make a plan, see if it work's, if it doesnt you Improvise... You try different bait's, color's, retrieves, depth's, speed, area's, stucture, weed's if none of that work's you try to Overcome... Then just sit back, put the rod down, look around, feel the water, smell the smell's and just try to Adapt to where you are what you're doing and be gratefull that you are.... Mike

  12. The only 3 bait's that I've caught fish on at the last 2 tounaments down here are... White pearl fluke with a 1/16 weight on the nose... White and chartruses chatterbait... 5" black/blue wacky rig. Mike
  13. Yep, that sounds like me border line A and B but only when fishin, I can slow down and hit an area pretty good but will tinker while doin it. Mike
  14. It can work, just don't horse 'em. Definatly use mono. It's not ideal, and you may want to keep what you have anyway that is a great deal. I don't know anything about the PQ rod but the reel itself makes that a great deal. Mike
  15. As FishnDaddy said, down here that is classic conditions in many Fla lakes regarless of the size. The set up's he uses is right on. It's all about Power...Rod, reel to match and sensativity. I like to use a swim jig or a skinny dipper just ticking the tops and rippin it if it hangs up even slightly, and letting it fall in every opening. Mike
  16. As you sit around your table today, bow your heads, and give Thanks for those who are gone and for the ones who are with you now.. From my family to yours...Happy Thanksgiving Mike

"I rode with him...I got no complaint's" And one of the best movie lines ever..... "To H*LL with them fellas, buzzards gotta eat, same as worms" God, I love that movie!! Mike
  19. I use 15 # for spinnerbait's, and worming. 20# for fippin. I love the stuff for all the reason's given. Mike
  20. The ones for me are.. Wacky rig Chatter / Spinner Soft plactics Mike
  21. I've allways read and been told that a few day's before and a few days after a full moon are the prime times to fish...As Jigman said The worst is the day it's full. Is it something I plan trips or tournaments around...No Mike
  22. Thanks for posting...That pretty much covers it all. Mike
