  5. I've been restoring a '65 GTO for years. After winning a Concourse Bronze Award at the GTO Nationals a few years ago, she's just been sitting in the garage with a cover and 2 alarm systems on much to often. I'm burned out doing the car show circuit and just want to sit in a boat. Mike
  6. My Chicago Bears hat I've had since the 80's. Lately I've been wearing a wide brim, top ventilated hat as it's starting to warm up down here. But my Bear hat is ALLWAYS with me. The Fla sun from Apr to Oct will flat knock you down!! Mike
  7. I have a 7 ft Fenwick Techna AV MH/F casting that is my plastics rod and wouldn't use another. It's rated at 3/8 to 1 1/2 oz. and has a smaller diameter than my Allstar ASR jig or the Flacon Heavy I use for frog's and punching. Mike
  8. Gee, now I feel bad...
  9. 3/0 and 4/0 skip gap hooks 15# invisix. Mike
  10. As a co-angler I don't want to bring binders and the such, as I try to keep what I bring to a minimum. I store my plastics and everything else in 3700 boxes. With 6-7 rods, a lunch/water bag, rain gear etc I try to be as condenced as I can but still make sure I bring everything I got. The bag I use [Flambeau A8] is just wide enough to store the trays horizontally. Mike
  11. Down here in Fla, I allways throw a top water first early in the morning. Regardless of the temp as it's ussually not that big of a deal. Mike
  12. I also use the same but I like the floro leader suggestion. Mike
  13. Fight, Fight like Hell... Don't let it get you down... Cling to your family and friends, listen to and do everything your doctors tell you.. Keep the faith brother..You'll beat this...Just believe God Bless Mike
  14. Prayers on the way... God Bless Mike

I use a paca craw as a trailer on all jig types. Don't let the head shape dictate how you fish a jig. One style may be better suited for a particular type retrieve...Thats all Mike
  16. T-Rig...15# and 20# floro Wacky..20# braid with 12# floro leader on spinning rod Mike
  17. Man Oh Man!! What a great trip...Those are the kind you never forget. Thanks for sharing Mike
  18. It is, but I think Lou's point is don't let a lack of confidence preclude you from just working it straight back, with pause's mixed in while varying the speed. If I miss read your post I appologise. Mike
  19. I do also, but I use nail polish. MIke
  20. D**M right I am... After tieing on my CAN'T MISS FAVORITE LURE, While wearing my LUCKY HAT, I SPIT on the bait, Before casting out on the RIGHT SIDE of the boat, Taking great care not to CROSS LINES with the boater, As I duck low to keep from casting my SHADOW ON THE WATER.... All the while hoping for... Wind out of the SOUTH blows bait in fishes mouth.. Or out of the WEST, because thats when fishing is the best.. Stay home when blowing from the NORTH as a fisherman should never go forth.. Worse yet if the wind blows from the EAST, as fish will bite the least.. I don't even want to think about BANANAS!! Mike
  21. That is a great milestone. You, Glenn and all the moderators should be proud. Mike

Love me some of dem chatter baits!! The colors that everyone suggest are all good as long as it's white! Seriously, I always have one rigged and start throwing that before a spinnerbait. I really like the flexable shaft of the Booyah, and thats all I throw now. The way I do it is I let it sink to the bottom and let it sit a few seconds, give it a hard pull, then back down. During retrieve I'll kill it a few times then give a sharp horizontal pull every once in a while. Mike
  23. Slack, slack and slack... Lower your rod just above the gunnell. Give it a short sideways pull and watch what happens, it will turn, pull it again the other way it'll turn that way. Now, don't reel any line even tho you think you should as you'll have a bow it the line, pull again and back again Try to keep that amount of slack throughout the cast as you work it back. When you get a strike that extra slack will help with the hook set. Anyway not saying it's right, or there aren't any other ways, thats how I was taught and still doing it. Just keep at it, you'll get the cadence down soon enough. Mike
  24. Seeing as you are only useing 1 oufit to cover all your bases, I suggest you use 20# braid with and without a leader depending on technique and cover. The only thing that would scare me useing braid for would be for treble hook baits..cranks, jerk's etc. When you get a hit just give it a steady but strong [not forcefull] sideway hook set with a fairly loose drag setting, or backreel. I agree with the Brain and Basscrazy, useing a med spinning rod to throw throw frogs, regardless of the line wouldnt be ideal. Mike
