  1. 15# Invisix... But I fish the mostly shallow Florida lakes. If fishing cranks 15-20 ft range it's 10#-12# Mike
  2. Agree...The rod isn't the best for all techniques but the reel can be. Mike
  3. Booyah Chatter Wacky rigged senko Trick worm on a spot remover shaky head Mike
  4. I've allways balanced mine on the middle of the foregrip, as the picture above shows. I don't mind a little tip heavyness. I find that I can feel the bite a little better especially by fingering the line. Mike
  5. 15# Invisix or 12# Yo Zuri Mike
  6. Growing up on the south side of Chicago, believe me when I tell you there were no waters to fish, and was thinking about other things! After I got my first car ['62 Pont Catalina 4 door] a few friends and I went to what we called the Forrest Preserve on the far south side and tried to fish but that didn't amount to anything. When I moved to Florida in '79 I did the requisite salt water thing that you allmost had to do. I did all the Tarpon, trout, snook, red, sheep head etc. fishing to last a life time. I started fishing some of the fresh water lakes and was hooked. I still fish salt water and enjoy it. But the bucket mouth is now my passion. Mike
  7. You're doing it right. If you step up to heavier line like a 20# mono or floro you can cut back on the twists too 4. I've been tying that knot the same way for 40+ yrs, it's the first knot I learned and what I've taught my kids and grandkids. A lot of folks use that knot for all line types and never have a problem. That being said there a lot of differnt knots that are can be used for all types of line. Now I use the Palomar for braid only and the San Diego Jam for floro, co poly and mono. Mike
  8. Sounds about right for me too... Mike
  9. This man knows how eat!! I just bring either 2 hot dog or ppj sandwhich's, water and bubble gum...
  10. Totally Agree! I make my own... Anise and baby oil-They seem to hold on like it was thier last meal! Mike
  11. I have the Costa 580 in Amber also. There was a thread not too long ago where it seemed the concesess was that the Blue or Green mirror is better. If I were you I'd try them both on outside the store you're buying them from on both cloudy and sunshine days to see which you prefer glare wise. It won't be the same as on a boat in the middle of a lake trying to see the bottom, but it cant hurt either. At least you'll have a better idea than standing in the aisle of store looking at a kid behind the counter that youre gonna give 200.00 too. Mike
  12. Ya know, I haven't for some reason I just keep fighting with these things because I like the way they do the job and for some reason it never occured to me to do that. Thanks Darren! Mike
  13. Check out the Spot Remover shakey head. It has the horse-foot shape Bob mentioned. I tryed many different brands and shapes and keep coming back to those. Mike
  14. I use the Norman Speed Clips..They're kinda hard to open with cold fat fingers tho Mike
  15. Thanks Fella's I need a new one to pair with my Fenwick Techna I use for plactics. The ipt which was my first consideration for all 3 are fairly close to each other, too close for me to just use that as the deciding factor. 7:1 Curado is 29" 7:1 PQ is 29" 6:4 only Revo S has 26 7:1 JM 31" [6:4 has 28] As I said, I have a PQ, a JM, and last years S that I use every outing, Tourn or just messing around Since I'm really not brand loyal, just what to match combos for ease and efficiency for each technique.... I'll probably go for the Curado as I don't have one, the E's will become very scarce in the near future, and since they are spoken of very highly here. Time to go to bed...I'm deciding this as I'm typing!! Thanks for the replies.. Mike
  16. I found a brand new in the box Curado 200E7 that I can get for 150.00. [never owned one] As of tomorrow with a reel trade in, we can get a Revo S with cent brakes only also for 105.00 [have last years model] a JM sig with dbs [which I love] for 114.00, or a PQ with dbs [a lot heavier but also really like] for 65.00. If cost was not a factor, and you needed another reel, which would you do... Mike
  17. Been useing the O rings for a while now, wouldnt do it any other way. If you want too, and don't have the "Wacky Tool" just use the lower end of an old ball point pen Mike
  18. X2 1 lost fish on a broken hook is 1 too many... Mike
