Last month in a local tourn on Toho, my boater was reeling in what looked like a 4 lber. When he got it about 20 ft from the boat I did what I've always done...put the net in the water with the handle on the gunnel waiting for him to bring the fish closer so I can come up from beneath it and scoop it up. When he got about 6 ft from me he yelled for me to GO GET HIM! I stretched as far as I could but couldn"t quite reach it. I yelled back..JUST A LITTLE CLOSER! he raised the rod, brought the fish in 3 more feet and I netted. After it was in the boat I told him, "next time just bring him to me, I don't want to take any chances of losing your fish by reaching so far out that I can't control the net, because I'm reaching so far I get off balance and risk knocking him off">> He said " I like that! most backseaters just go get them, and I cringe everytime the net gets close, I thought you were gonna do the same but you didn't move...That fish weighed 5.7lb which helped him place 2nd. He refused to take the 25.00 I offered for gas. Mike
  4. My Dad... Like Mikes father mine didn't fish either. Mike
  5. I use Invisx... 20# on flippin rod, 15# texas rig plastic rod and 15# on the spinner bait rod. Mike
  6. The way I was taught is to pull the main line to get it snug [after wetting] then pull tag end to tighten. Again, thats just the way I do it and have never had it slip or fail. Mike
  7. I didn't take it as you were being rude at all. Thanks for the explanation. After trying on a pair of the green mirror in the bright sun, I much prefer them over the Amber. Thanks Mike
  8. If I had a boat I probably would store in their bags, for the reasons given already. But as a tourn co-angler I use the tray's. It took a while to find just the right bag [Flambeau AZ8] that can fit everything I bring, and have the right configuration but it works for me. Mike
  9. I was told by the dealer that the amber 580 lens has a copper filter base which is to help give the lighter amber color, compared to the mirror lenses, it clarity. Don't know for sure but thats what I was told. MIke
  10. Amber 580 with the copper base Mike
  11. I use Invisx for all floro techniques. Yes it does stretch some but I really don't think overly so. Mike

  18. On a bc, 3 fingers behind trigger, index in it to cast. 3 in front when reeling, palmed.t On spinning reel 3 in front with thumb on top, casting and reeling. Index finger under the line when working soft baits. Mike
  19. I use 50# on my jig rod, 30# for top. 20# on spinning reel for most light stuff. All power pro. Mike
  20. I use 20# power pro on my 2500 Symetre that i also use for wacky, shaky and weightless senkos. I think its the perfect setup for a 6' 6" mh f spinning rig with a floro leader . Mike
  21. I don't have any of the high dollar reels most of you fellas use, but I do love my PQ more than anything I've ever used. Mike
  22. 6 6 mh spinning for wacky and flukes, in mostly light cover . Mike
  23. Let me give you a tip I learned. L & L works much better if you use it on virgin line, especially floro. I used some line butter that I was given and then used L & L before my next trip 2 weeks later, I took it all off then reapplied. Mike
