  1. Bait caster only. Mike
  2. I haven’t used it but a friend did and really liked it. I threw his rig for a bit and was pleasantly surprised. Its subtleness seems a little better than Tatsu which surprised me. It’s very soft with hardly any memory. The only line I didn’t feel I needed any KVD Line and Lure. He uses it extensively for reaction hard baits and I will too as the action of everything I threw seemed better. Mike
  3. Basically the same all year. The only caveat is as the conditions change while covering water, I’ll cycle through the same things until a pattern emerges. Right now the top 3 for the entire water column…. Top.., Original Scum frog Devils horse Pop R Mid water… Magnum UV Speed Worm Trap Fat Max ribbon tail Bottom… Rage Bug Rage Craw Standard size Brush Hog Changing to Seaguar’s Smackdown last summer for the only 3 presentations I use braid for, has really helped with casting distance and better abrasion resistance. Right now I won’t use anything else except when punching usually thick Hydrilla or Hyacinth All other presentations I use Seaguar’s Tatsu which is in my opinion the best flouro you can buy..period. I still use Shooter or Sniper for sight fishing beds only because I always have and know their differences but by most standards Tatsu outperforms everything else. I most always only use either junebug or watermelon red for all plastics except when sight fishing beds which is always white regardless of what it is. I hope that helps Mike
  4. The timing worked perfectly for them considering winning the SB and passing a deadline that would give the state 10% of the proceeds. All about the money. With free agency opening in 2 weeks and the draft after that I would. Mike
  5. You’ve already been given great choices throughout the thread. Now is where you come in. Mama will hit it all if she is so inclined with males being a little less choosy Mike
  6. Even tho you’re restricted to where you can fish, there isn’t a one bait for all conditions. Are there lay downs you can reach? In the middle of summer are there overhanging trees that casts a shadow? How far off shore is “deeper water” ? You get my point. For bowl shaped ponds with no features just recycle through your box using confidence baits to see first and foremost if anything is there. If you’re into finesse type fishing (which I don’t do) I’d start there. A wacky rigged or weightless stick bait like a Senko, is hard to beat. I’d also try a sq bill, a small spinnerbait or drag a creature type bait fan casting every 5 ft or so. Best of Luck to you. Mike
  7. Never leave home without it! Mike
  8. Ditto Most angles will modify, tweak and adjust for sight and/or sound changes regardless of how it was intended run. But there has to be a starting point or nothing thrown will be consistent from one bait to another. For me probably more so for plastics than hard baits. Mike
  9. Major cold fronts, excessive northerly winds, extended dry season with lowering water levels, all which cause prolonged unstable weather coupled with changing water and bottom composition with decaying vegetation will begin to moderate statewide from south to north. When all that happens which should be around the end of this month into March, sight fishing beds will be priority all day. You’ll have to learn and take advantage of the best “window” times that change from lake to lake. Pay attention to the keys. Mike
  10. Magnum UV Speed Worm. Junebug, 3/16 unpegged, 20# Shooter. All day everyday Mike
  11. Oh Yeah There will be beds all over now especially as it warms up a little more every day now. As long as we don’t get another strong front come through you’ll start to see more. With temps in the high 50’s low 60’s over night there’s no reason to get on the water at sunrise. Mid morning to late afternoon is usually the sweet spot now for a week or so more, then it’ll be game on. Tip… Don’t just blind cast or pitch in likely spots. Take the time to read the fish’s habits carefully (especially the male) as he will tell you how hard you’ll have to work at it. Mike
  12. Bob I’m so very sorry to hear this. May she Rest In Eternal Peace Mike
  13. Loved seeing the B1’s in the flyover. Mike

I’ll watch speed skating, bobsledding and curling if I happen to be in the room. But when the boss wants to watch figure skating I’m out. Mike
  15. From what I understand, because the team is in a trust the league wants it sold. Thats why no sale of any NFL franchise has ever been approved by owners with that type of ownership structure before. There have been instances in the past and all have been struck down. Mike
  16. Don’t pigeon hole yourself like that. There is no such thing as certain seasonal baits. The conditions and the fish themselves (or lack there of) will give you a starting point. From there it’s putting together the puzzle to make the next best choice just like all other presentations throughout the year. Mike
  17. Considering those options I’d throw the 20# Invizx Mike
  18. All feel Initially the drag itself is set a little less than ideal as my thumb never leaves the spool throughout the entire process of casting, presenting, retrieving and landing. Mike
  19. I always start with a Rage Bug then cycle through to a Sweet Beaver, Rage Craw or a Zoom Lizard depending on how she reacts or if I’m targeting the female or the male first. Always white regardless Mike
  20. I never use line that thin, but any line that wraps around itself I use 6 for 15# and under and 4 above that. Mike
  21. I don’t and won’t As long it it isn’t wasted to each they’re own Mike
  22. @woolleyfooley Same as every year. The shallower the water the more they will either head deeper or for cover depending what the lake offers looking for warmer water. Down here they will completely shut off regardless of what you do. They won’t chase, or move a foot as thier metabolism slows way down. You can drop it on her nose and she may not react. A day or 2 before a front passes can be the best time of the year if you’re in the right place at the right time. Timing and location are key. I don’t bother anymore. Just wait a few days for it to pass and settle down. She’ll be back. Mike
  23. On an already world famous lake that produces..Okeechobee, Toho, St.Johns River, Everglades etc…Yeah I would On the smaller out of the way lakes or really anything that holds water down here I would not. Mike
  24. I did one time during a tournament after breaking off 50# Power Pro. I didn’t have a spool with me of course but my Pro was kind enough to give me about 30 yrds off one of his. I only used it for over the shoulder bomb casts. I landed about an 2# and it held fine using a double uni. As that knot cinches tighter with pressure it would be the only one I would consider using Mike
  25. There is today Mike
