  1. I don’t care how it looks, Knock em down!! Mike
  2. As long as the canister is fully charged and there are no holes or rips throughout I see no reason why it shouldn’t. I’ve had mine for years and give it a quick inspection every time I put it on and then don’t think about it. Mike
  3. Glue a piece of perforated shelving to the underside of the lid. Nothing moves. Mike

I upsize the front and middle hook with the front always red of the 2 older wooden ones I have. I only use them along a hard reed or grass line about 1-3 ft out and in and around an area of isolated anything. On one I reversed the front prop which makes it spit more and add a red feather on the rear hook but change the retrieve using more slower but harder pops. The other I bend the prop backwards for more quicker and longer pulls and add a white feather to the rear Mike
  5. Regardless of the season… UV Speed Worm Spook Devils Horse Frog Pop R Mike
  6. That’s too bad, but not really surprising Mike
  7. Katie Don’t worry about it, you’re gonna make yourself crazy just thinking about stuff like that. You will never know why. There are no absolutes when trying to match wits with a being with a brain when their only concern is eating and making babies. Ma Bass will do what she does when, how and where she does it. All we can do is to anticipate movements and habits. Mike
  8. Nobody knows exactly where they’ll be or what they’ll bite at launch. You may have a good idea and convince yourself you do based on history, conditions, observations etc etc Unless you get lucky and actually see her resting on a rock… No, you won’t know with absolute certainty Mike
  9. Good for her! Great to hear!! Mike
  10. Bears Win That “team from Wisconsin” loses Alls right in the world Mike
  11. The so called “perceived rules” don’t matter to me. Optimal performance for me is if it’s balanced and sensitive enough in my hands with the right action and power for the presentation I’m making. That’s it. I only care about how it fishes in my hands But Hey, that’s just me. Carry ON Mike
  12. From take off at “Safe Light” to check in which down here is usually 3:00. (Some local clubs use 2:00 for July and Aug) Mike
  13. FLMB tend to give up and become lackadaisical most of the time if holed up and can’t really move. Thats your cue to back off but do it in stages as you don’t really know well she’s hooked. Yes, you’ll lose a few but if you use thier natural habits to your advantage your chances increase. Mike
  14. This is good information for all sets. I do it every time regardless of what I throw. It gives you the freedom to adjust if necessary without using undo stress when you absolutely don’t want drag slippage for the obvious presentations when setting and retrieving Mike
  15. Personally I think too much is made of the use of color in most everything we talk about. I like red hooks at certain times, shad colored cranks and orange bellied frogs, bone with orange or red for top waters. June bug, watermelon red, red/shad, white or black for most plastics. That’s it I use grey or green braided line. Don’t use hi vis braid because I don’t finesse fish. I think camo, black or sharpie colored line is a gimmick My point is that we all have or favorites for some reason or another and how we justify it is a different as our choices. Mike
  16. My braid option (which I would probably never do) would be 20# Smackdown in stealth grey or green Mike
  17. Yep I probably should have noted that Mike
  18. I replace all the front rebels regardless of the overall color except for constantly moving top water’s like a Spook Mike
  19. A red headed bone MirrOlure is one of the most popular cross over lures down here for both bass and salt water snook. Helpful tip… I always replace the front treble on most all crank type hard baits with a red one, especially on one of those. Mike
  20. 12# Sunline Sniper Mike
  21. First sign of loosing its sharpness. If you pull the line fairly taunt they will cut clean Mike
  22. I haven’t read it and sure it has some interesting insights, but nothing you read or watch someone do will help you catch a fish more than this…. Mike

Check out the Gambler Duz-It if you decide you want something already pre rigged. They come in various keel weights on a 6/0 or 7/0 hook with a gold or nickel willow blade that you can adjust on the shank. I use them depending on conditions for both a Big EZ or Skinny Dipper depending if they want more thump or wiggle Mike
