  1. There’s not just one reason for me, it’s the whole package… Sensitivity (compared to mono) Lower stretch (compared to mono) Abrasion resistant (compared to mono) Sinks and stays sunk (compared to mono) Smaller diameter (compared to mono) “invisibility” and more uv protection (compared to mono) doesn’t matter to me Mike
  2. I consider Okeechobee my home lake as I’ve fished it longer and more often than any other down here. The first thing you learn, and it doesn’t take long, is that no lake changes as often as The Lake. It’s like most things tho the more you do the more you learn. It’s gotten a lot of bad press the last few years but nothing of what you hear or read is the whole story. (nothing ever is) There are certain areas in certain conditions that scream what to use and how to use it, and others that scream just as loud to just move on. But to truly know what you’re looking at doesn’t come with a few outings a year. The more you put into it, the more you get out of it. Mike
  3. We all were there at some point, most probably still are. One of the advantages of fishing mostly as a tournament co angler you learn real quick where your comfort and confidence level is for all 3 water levels. I’ve got it down now to where I use certain plastics to take the place of most all moving top water lures. *Sight fishing beds to 1 color of only 3 different baits. *Frogs to 1 size in 3 color patterns *4 hook styles in 4 sizes *Weights and nails to 1/2 of what I started out with. * Hard baits culled by size with fewer color patterns. Granted, fishing in different waters all the time with ever changing cover, structure, clarity, depths etc. has taken years to cull and tweak, but I really don’t think I’ve miss calculated much as there is always something else to use. 4. Everyone has thier own method. Uni, Square, SDJ, Arbor, Alberto etc. Some use tape, some use glue and some use nothing at all. As long as it’s secured you’re good. Mike
  5. Qualify for the BFL All American Mike
  6. A bottom contact bug of some sort Always start with a Rage Bug and go from there. Mike
  7. Pick the color based on your waters clarity, light condition and in some cases forage. You’ll save yourself a lot of time, money and aggravation than just arbitrarily picking a few. Personally I only use Junebug for the Speed Worm and honey candy for the Cut R when a smaller profile or for changes in conditions warrant. For more subtle swimming worms like a ribbon tail I only use red/shad. Mike
  8. Yes EDIT…At least I am and assume Pat is too Mike
  9. The Magnum and 1 other are the only 2 permanently rigged plastics that I use every outing regardless of when and where I go. I don’t like the regular size as they seem to roll when rigged unpegged. When I want/need to down size I use a Rage Cut R instead Mike
  10. 5 out of 6 ain’t bad Mike
  11. Honestly The same things can be said about almost all chemicals that we all have in our homes. MSDS are for informational purposes that are for the eye of the beholders to accept and if people want to live thier lives around every printed word and every precaution listed its their choice. All products should be used in the manner recommended by the manufacturer. As long as I don’t inhale, touch, smell or taste it, I’m good I use the stuff before any rod gets rigged regardless of cost. Mike

  13. Yeah Baby! Mike
  14. @detroit1 Because there’s a clause that allows a ref to call it because it was deemed inevitable. Meaning the 12th man wouldn’t have enough time to get off given the time left on the play clock. Mike
  15. Thanks Pal! The kids already have my list!! Mike

  23. I haven’t heard that but I sure hope not! That place has been the most underrated big Bass lake in the entire country for years! We know about it because we live here but nobody else does. Other than the Big O and maybe Toho who gets all the press, I’d bet more 5lb-8lb Bass have been caught there over the years than anywhere else. Mike
  24. Yeah, those are pretty much my limits Mike
