  1. I give each a small drop of oil with a little KVD Line and Lure in the line guide itself. Mike
  2. Hello and Welcome Mike
  3. 2 weeks ago in my last review of Plano’s new Stowaway boxes I touched on the overall build, the convenience of the 1 way latch system and even the way they made it easier to label each box directly on the latch. Some of the comments on other threads were skeptical while comparing them to the older designs. So I just wanted bring it up again because it’s hard to criticize or even critique something fairly if not compared to side by side or hands on. I’d like to suggest that next time you go to your local shop pick one up and look it over good. The comparisons are really not that close. Mike
  4. Hello and Welcome Mike
  5. I didn’t even know they still made those things, even has a roller! Very fancy My grandma made me cut her grass every summer with one of those. To this day I refuse to do it, one of the few luxuries I allow myself! Have Fun 😃 Mike
  6. @casts_by_fly Really looks great! The amount of work you did is really noticeable Mike
  7. These will make you appreciate any kind you have. Even now when I see one I cringe Mike
  8. It’s all relative fellas. As someone said earlier buy what you can afford, fish it and be happy. There was a time I had to borrow one because I didn’t want to spend the money at that time on anything and was a luxury to me. As things changed I kept going up in price because I expected more, then more and more until I got to the point of diminishing returns. That point is in what you get out of it and wallet. Mike
  9. I say.. I’ve had Kast King Gill Raker gloves for about 5 yrs. They stretch at the right places, breathe and comfortable enough to wear all day without moving and bunching up Don’t know what the SPF number is but never had a problem Mike
  10. Yep see your point I was just saying what a flush really means. Edit Again😃 On my show car which sits more than its on the road I change the oil every year and just drain and flush without removing the block plugs every 2 Mike
  11. A flush is a flush.. All coolant is completely replaced from the radiator, block and heater core. Replacing a lower hose just drains what will spill out of the lower radiator and engine block usually just below the water pump. That is not a flush, it a hose replacement with a top off. Edit Depending on mileage and condition of the coolant just replacing it isn’t good enough either as plain water will not dislodge any build up scale and/or sludge Mike
  12. I remember that! I didn’t think you would young Lady Mike
  13. I should break out my OLD Polaroid Insta Camera and try that! 😃 (I know you young guys don’t know what I’m talking about) Mike
  14. I use 65# and 80# original Power Pro for flipping and pitching in mats and heavy cover, but switched to 50# Smackdown for frogs. I’ve never been bothered by any sound If you're breaking off #50 lb line landing a 4#-5# bass, it definitely wasn’t because of the line unless it or your knot was compromised Mike
  15. On mine I hit actual size button first then go from there, trying small medium or large until it takes Mike
  16. I’m not going to get into a drawn out discussion about whether it safe for anything or anyone. I’m not worried or even concerned what’s in it. There are waning labels on everything that’s bought in this country as It’s left up to buyer to decide, as it should be. I use it and have since it first came out and have no intention of stopping or changing. Mike
  17. Every rod I own except for 3 are MH/F. Most have different actions that I use for different presentations. I did that purposefully because of the waters I fish the most and I want the added power that a medium doesn’t give. The others are a H/XF and H/F for when the need arises. I just got my first M/F that I like but it’s more of specialty combo for me. All are casting as I don’t use spinning rods Mike
  18. I’ve had more success with a faster more erratic presentation on subsequent casts. You obviously have her attention for whatever reason. Now you’re trying to get her to react. The ones you caught were either the more aggressive or hungrier. The others you’re gonna have to work for. Mike

  20. I apply it during spooling and the night before every trip. No, I don’t care if it’s gets inside somehow as I’m spraying. I use the KVD Line and Lure only, don’t know and don’t care about any knockoff or other products. Tip… Be sure to let it dry completely before getting it wet. Mike
  21. Thank You for your life’s reminders Hopefully if someone needs it, they find solace and strength in yours Mike
  22. I learned the hard way when I went through my first “what hook to use” phase. Once I settled on my go to hook manufacturer my confidence level went up as it was just another thing not to worry about. Mike
  23. I keep my drag set on the tighter side on all my heavy cover setups but not locked. I always thumb every reel regardless of what I throw as I want the control instead of relying on the reel setup. Mike
  24. Sorry to hear what happened to her. I wish her the very best. Mike
