  1. Mrs Mike does too. She uses it to tell me if I have to go get the mail right away or not! Mike
  2. The plan is Wednesday and maybe Thursday at Sunline’s and TH Marine. Won’t know for sure until Monday. Mike
  3. That’s Great! I’m so glad she’s getting some of her independence back. That could make a big difference. Prayer’s for her and your family Mike
  4. Sometimes printed words don’t convey true feelings. At least mine don’t. Sorry if any of mine offended for any reason. Certainly wasn’t intended. Gonna go re rig now Mike
  5. It just seems to me that the subsequent generations overall have lost a little something that can’t be quantified that our parents and grandparents had. They tried to give it to us and we to ours Some live it and some don’t I just believe the work ethic and the willingness to work isn’t what it was. But obviously not all It was an overall blanket statement. Thats all Mike
  6. Of Course they count! Personally I think they count more than most! Anybody who’s committed enough to his beliefs and sacrifices to build a family should be condemned. Folks like your family and friends are the ones who in the long run will save us all. My son wanted to join the Marines more than anything else. He didn’t care about scholarship’s or being on some deans list. Came home, built a life and would do it again. Mike
  7. No @Mobasser we won’t. When the last go there will never be another generation with the work ethic, and the pride in doing a job well done they had, regardless of what job that was. Why, because they had to work to just have a meal and survive, let alone work to help support their parents and everyone else in their family circle. Now, no one really has to do that. Mike
  8. That’s SOP down here and been that way for years! There are jobs for any skill level, education, potential advancement etc. The reasons as I see it is that it seems the unskilled labor market just plain don’t want to do any type of physical labor. Even the ones who have no secondary education for whatever reason just don’t want to do it where migrants will jump on the opportunity and will work at anything. Down here every trade in construction will gladly pay at the top of a non union scale and still can’t anyone to even apply. The trades are begging for people and the trade school enrollments are at an all time low. At least locally. When McDonalds offers a 200.00 new employee bonus and starting pay of 18.00 hr to flip burgers and can’t get anyone to apply. what does that say?? it’s really sad. No work ethic at all, seems people want a hand out these days and free money. No one wants to work for it. Mike
  9. Never heard of that! I’ll try it today. Normally I just use a little salt Mike
  10. You got a keeper, don’t get her mad at you! ? Mike
  11. Glad you’re back! Been awhile Mike
  12. Probably 20# flouro or 40# braid depending on where No leader Mike
  13. Other than a Rage Bug or Craw fir sight fishing and punching which are my first choice, my main ones are a Magnum Speed Worm, Fat Max ribbon tail and a 10” Anaconda. Mike
  14. If you guys start comparing which shampoo gives you the most luxurious lather, or what brand of conditioner makes your hair look and feel silky smooth without those nasty flyaway ends.,, I’ll lose my mind!! ? Mike
  15. Wow!! Glad you guys a Safe! Mike
  16. Totally depends on where I’m throwing it. Other than my punch rig, I don’t have one specific rod just to throw one specific bait. Mostly it’s a 7’3 Ark with flouro and a 7’ Fenwick M1 with braid Mike
  17. 8 screws, 4 rods, 1 cage, 2 plates and 2 laminectomies. For me the first 2 months were the worst, then it starts leveling off depending on what therapy you choose and if you’re committed to it. The first time I went back fishing after 18 months I was like a little kid. Just be smart and listen to your body, it’ll tell you what and how much you can do. I wish him the best Mike
  18. @Catt…. “Some spots are seasonal” Excellent point that shouldn’t be overlooked. If you fish a lake the size of Toledo Bend that he does or Okeechobee as I do, it’s imperative to know you waters. I’d venture to say no lake can change as much or as often as Okeechobee. However, I’m not fishing what’s floating on top that changes location, size or even composition on a weekly, monthly or in certain areas daily. I’m fishing the structure which rarely changes but have certain features that will bring Ma Bass right back to it depending on temperature, migration of bait, weather fronts, consistent wind direction etc. Example, during our high wind frequent winter cold front’s we have, anglers who frequently fish The Lake won’t even bother to fish certain shore lines. Bottom line..Learn your waters and understand it’s unique idiosyncrasies Mike
  19. I don’t know who “they” are but I’ll bet you read that in some magazine or from some YouTube guy. Trust what you read above. Now, that being said there are times when after saturating a specific spot I’ll move on and won’t go back to it, but that’s only fir that particular outing and only because success was found elsewhere also. Mike
  20. Whew!! It’s not the end of humanity you guys make it out to be. If you’re careful and have common sense you can really have a great time, on the boat or any port of call. In all the years we’ve been cruising we’ve a bad experience only a handful of times but everyone has thier own definition of what that is. I know I’m outnumbered here so I’ll just move on. As I said earlier I’m very sorry @Darth-Baiter and family had a terrible experience and of course wish them the best. Just wanted to give another point of view from having a lot of experience. Mike
  21. Ditto It’s all relative to how and especially where you fish. Most on here think using 80# braid is overkill and can’t phantom why. That’s ok, But in certain / specific conditions they're not where I’m at and doing what I’m doin. I’ve never had a sponsor tell me what to use but there are others who “strongly” suggest and imply that’s what they want. Flipping with flouro has its place and time but ya gotta be selective and understand the limits of what you got in your hand. Mike
  22. I hope you guys get better quick. I agree it’s the worst thing to happen when all you want to do is unwind, have a great time and make memories, now you have to deal with this. Sorry you feel that way about cruising. Mrs Mike and I cruise at least twice a year and have for the last 10+ yrs. Last year we went 3 times and every time is an adventure and never think we won’t go again for any reason. And Yes, I do Bass fish!! Be Well Mike
  23. Looking down at a screen all day, holding a light spinning rod with 6# line waiting for 1# fish to come swimming by so I can jiggle a 3” worm in it’s face…. Nope, That’s not me Mike
  24. Good for you! Mike
  25. My heaviest is only used for punching. H/XF Quantum Smoke 80# Power Pro Mike
