Along with a more moderate action rod loosening the drag a little is helpful as well.

Using Braid For Everything?
Braid is my favorite multipurpose line but I do use fluoro and Nanofil. Nano gets specific use for nightcrawlers and senkos.

Official Bank Walkers Topic!
Here are some bank catches from earlier today used Spro Bucktail jig to get them. Hair jigs are another to me I feel not so common lure that a lot of people pass up. Just do not get much recognition. They cast great compact basically a sinker with a little bit of hair that catch fish. Good in early season cold water conditions 1st pic 3.28#, 2nd/3rd pic 3.83#

Best Weedless Method (Plastic Baid) For Most Hookups?
This style is my defacto hook for wacky rig weedless not weed free mind you anything can get snagged. They practically hook themselves. Other brand like Gamakatsu weedless hook has a stouter wire dont think they have a red hook. Its all about red hooks

My Knot Failed?

Official Bank Walkers Topic!
Here is my 1st crankbait fish this year. Square 5 Arashi Hot Blue Shad. Fish hit very hard for its size I also was using braid so that increases the feel of strikes.

Favorite Soft Baits Besides Frogs And Toads For Fishing Over Heavy Weeds
That section isnt very deep like 1-3'. Ill work the bigger senkos slowly though not aggressively practically in place. Their weight will cause the slop to bounce sort of and that vibration is what I feel attracts. Ive seen movement under the slop going toward my bait then get nailed by bass coming through its rather neat to witness. Its like- oh oh theres something moving under there get ready BAM!!! OH and the sound a strike through slop makes is rather cool a loud WHAAP even when its not my lure getting struck but bug flying or whatever Now when getting close to breaks or holes like the slot close to the the middle of the back of bass pictured let the bait drop in there and it get hit often. There is one lake I fish that is a lily field but basically use the same techniques Iv already mentioned. I dont ever "punch" through stuff with heavier presentations lean more towards finesse finding hole for lure to drop in so cant be of any help on weight size.

Favorite Soft Baits Besides Frogs And Toads For Fishing Over Heavy Weeds
For slop(backgroung of pic) Ill work a wacky 6" senko or 7" SK ocho on top with a perpendicular weedless hook. I use hydras ikas and salty core tubes as well. Its the exposed hook on the wacky rig that really shines with hook-ups.

Is 30Lb Braid Overkill
Id take advantage of the thinness/strength of braid on a spinning reel. Meaning I go to 8-10# braid. A person would use just 8# mono fluoro on a spinning reel yet 8# braid most likely will be stronger. I dont even use high pound braid on baitcasters all but one has 10-15-20# braid. So to me yes 30# is overkill by about 20#

Tatula. Tws Grooving?
Some reports of grooving have come from NON-braid use. To me if it were to happen it would be caused by long constant retrieves like lipless cranks spinnerbaits with thinner lines more than with say flipping thick heavy braid. With new braid I did see two spots on the wing at the points of the W and I thought oh no grooves but it turned out to be just the coating built up and it wiped away.
