Well scratch out my 10# sniper I toasted about 200' of it today, spool held nearly 100yrds. I bought a Daiwa SV105P and had 20# S8S on it able to get some good force in a cast and management was fine down to 2 clicks so last night took it off and put on 10#SniperFC. I went out today and had brakes set high to half way10 clicks and was throwing a 3.8" Fat Impact with 1/4oz jighead doing ok but distance wasnt there. I set the brakes back to where I did for my braid, 2 clicks, BIG MISTAKE I gave a good heave and oh thats not good, spent about 30 minutes on the shore trying to get the birdsnest out, decided to give in. I pull the spool out and ripped the line off and only about 80' or so of the line was salvaged.

Out of curiosity what is a used price on a 14 in your area? Up here NIL a 14' jon or v bottom 5hp motor and trailer can be had for 500-700. I had a 14' jon back in my 20's at times had 4 in it but most just 2. I put a floor in it and wasnt bad fishing wise while standing

I have gotten way more, in the 10 or so range many times. Its rare anymore that I only get one or two fish. I would most likely been bit off by a pike if so. Plus with mend-it Iv been in the 20+ with one senko. If it get torn or a slash it gets put in bag, when I get home a liittle brush of mend-it and its good for next outing. Mend-it just saves sooo much money paying for itself 10-20-30 fold If the tail of a keitech impact doesnt get bit off Ive repaired one bait 8-9 times

10-12 and just bought16# FC Sniper. I have 6# Trilene100%FC but only used it a few times and took it off. The Sniper has worked very well for me management wise strength wise longevity the only complaint is the stretch has been too much for my liking. My main use for it has been Keitech swimbaits oh not a mono user

Good Luck and tie good knots I only started early this year with them but they have set personal records for me on a number of lakes. I managed to trick one into biting today after about 2hrs 35 degrees or so.

I have an 8' ML rod and have used 1000 size shimano(stradic) and 30 size pflueger(supreme xt) I prefer the 1000 physical size. They both weigh the same the 30 size seems too big just didnt pair welll. Line comes off tighter with the smaller 1000spool less flap hitting the first guide. I used 10 braid with both.
