Your M.o.
I would do fine with no lures. I went nearly 3 years tossing nightcrawlers on #4 hook exclusively. Take all my lures Ill go back to crawlers dig them up if need be. I dont fish a high variety of lures, like this year Id put Palm Trees as my lure of choice for 90% of my fishing. Then tossed 5%rippin raps with senko, frog, jig, spinnerbait sharing the final 5%

Most Sensitive Bottom Contact Rods Under $150
There could be a way to measure rod sensitivity. There are vibration monitoring devices that could be set on the rod reelseat position then have an adjustable device creating a tic or vibration on a set lenght of line using a standard line or just on the rodtip. The monitor can feel these inputs through the length of rod and give readings higher lower at set levels of input. Somewhat like the sensor for richter scale measures vibration from earthquakes. So set input at 1/8,1/4,1/2oz equivalent force tap tap tap, read monitor, the higher the reading the more sensitive the rod is or the smallest force to get reading. One rod could measure down to 1/64oz force while another wont react til 1/8oz force applied so the 1/64 is more sensitive. Or a setting of 1/4oz input and rod A gets reading of 1000 on monitor, rod B get 1200 the rod B feels more vibration at reelseat thus more sensitive. Just thinking

Inflatable Boat Experience?
Also on what Loop_Dad about set-up time is the pack-up time after a day out all the stuff has to go back in your vehicle so plan for the same amount at end of the day.

Inflatable Boat Experience?
To add Set-up times is so-so but usually from parking to actually going on the water is less than 30 minutes not rushing but easy pace with kids tagging along. If Im by myself Ive been on water in 20 minutes. If you have a good back a small gas motor can go on them not so sure about 5hp seems to me it too heavy for boat & mount. IIve seen you tube vids with gas motor on he is out on Lake Michigan and has a fishfinder set-up as well. Depending on your state it may have to be registered Im in IL it costs me $22 for 3 years. Here the Lake Mich vid

Inflatable Boat Experience?
Yes I can stand mine has wooden floor boards that can be taken out/in. It is very stable as far as flipping turning over, not an issue One thing of note is wind can be a bit tricky at times Ive went to using 2 anchors front back otherwise you get spun around one anchor. Motor wise though I have 55# it takes very little to power the boat and moves quite well just on half throttle. There are other models as well an SE8 SE9 that are a little smaller but nearly the same shape so if alone might consider those plus cost less. I got the 124 cause I have 2 kids so some space for them.

Inflatable Boat Experience?
Im nearly 4 years with my Sea Eagle124SMB and yes it has been a tuff little boat. Im going to jinx myself but no punctures yet. I too was hesitant but ordered a catalog from Sea Eagle and it had samples of the boat material. I tried puncturing the material with a pen had a friend hold it while I tried poking it with a key couldnt puncture it. Here is the surprising thing we used a lighter and held the flame on the sample for 10 seconds and the sample didnt melt through it got very pliable but didnt melt away at all. I do have scuff marks from rocks branches and stuff but its going good. Here is mine you can see it has ok amount of space. I now have a seat that goes on that metal bench.

Braid For Cranks?
What is causing the nicks in your line? Braid has less abrasion resistance than fluoro so what may be causing a nick in fluoro could cause braid to break/snap. If its from backlashes then yeah braid holds-up better.

Most Sensitive Bottom Contact Rods Under $150
I think I had high expectation with the Cumara based on the hype and it didnt match that hype/expectation to me. Agree they have their good and bad points so its a pesonal thing there. I do feel they help in the weight/balance/sensitivity cause they work together so to speak. Leaders & fiber coated water well there are the issue points.

Most Sensitive Bottom Contact Rods Under $150
Well casting rods from what Ive own/owned my Quantum Smoke 7'M/F is at the top of my list. The list includes 7'6" Cumara, 6'9"LTB, 7'Veritas, 6'6"Premier, 7'Clarus. Smoke also happens to be the lightest and balances the best which I feel contributes to its excellent sensitivity.

First Online Order Questions
For that little savings I would buy local if product available, if it isnt I buy online. Last 3 rods were online purchased no issues but at 50%+ off. I havent had same luck with reels 3 of last 4 reels returned do to issues. One "new" reel I received I think was actually used/returned cause the inside plastic packaging was torn plus the reel had issues with sticking.

G Loomis Nrx Problem... Seen This???
Have you read other site's posts of issues with the NRX handles? Here a quote from Shimano rep on another site about NRX issue: Bantam1 "GLoomis has made 4 running changes now to correct the issue. The new foregrip cork has changed and the hole has been slightly enlarged to prevent it from splitting. They also went to a compressed cork section on the front to make it stronger. The reel seat issue has been eliminated now by changing the internal design slightly. This allows for a better bond with the epoxy that holds it onto the blank. A small carbon shim has been added to some models to further improve the contact area. Now to further explain before the panic starts. Not every rod had a problem. So far around 1-2% have come back with issues. These rods have been replaced under warranty. Certain models had no issues at all such as the spinning and lighter 2 power rods. So if your rod does not have an issue do not worry. We also saw most of the cork issues appeared to happen from people cranking down the foregrip too tight resulting in the cork splitting because of the clearance issue. This was changed a few months after the NRX was released. We are aware that not all reels may fit correctly in this reel seat. Shimano reels do not seem to have an issue. If you are using another competitors reel and have an issue then contact us. We can provide you with a shim that can be used to make the reel fit a little tighter in the reel seat. If you have a rod issue contact us by calling 877-577-0600 (US) and we will help you out with getting the rod replaced."
