Looking for spinnerbait form with heavy gauge wire
The ones I use for my big ugly spinnerbaits is a thick wire, if you break them it's not the wires fault.

Alligators and Small Boats
Gators and small boats? Sounds like they'd go together like lamb and tuna fish!

An old lure I had given up on is finally producing
I like the ultralight version they have with the single, barbless hook.

NED RIG??
Don't bother, it only catches small fish anyways and it's pretty much the same thing as a shakyhead...

The Found Lures Thread
My oldest son found a squarebill stuck on a log underwater today. He seems to have a pretty good eye for them as well. Earlier this year while we were bank fishing for catfish, he searched the bank and found 5 baits, including a pre Rapala Chug Bug that has been very successful for me this year.

Latest Catch Pics Thread
Saturday I was running a guide trip at the power plant lake, same one I struggled to catch 40" of bass from in a tournament the week before. Nearly full moon, the water dropped a foot in a week, then we had big storms Friday that dumped a few inches of rain that brought it back up a few inches, didn't have high hopes. These guys really just wanted to learn the lake for an upcoming tournament and had caught a grand total of 2 bass in 2 trips to the lake. Good dudes that came with a positive attitude and ready to learn with the understanding that catching was secondary to learning, which makes it go so much smoother for everyone. They got the grand tour from way up the river to the dam and every patch of grass, log, or rock pile in between that I knew to regularly hold fish. We even caught fish off some of my spots and they left with a lot more confidence and a game plan on how to attack the lake. Sunday I drug my kids out of the house for about 1.5 of spillway/creek fishing. We found some extra bitey green sunfish and little largemouth piled up in the corner of the spillway and they put it on them with inline spinners and roadrunners.

Does the Bluegill bite go off when its too hot for LM Bass to do the same?
When the bass move offshore, away from where the bluegills are hiding, they come out of their hiding spots, much like any prey animal does when it senses there are no/fewer predators nearby.

Do you have a ritual or lucky charm when fishing?
Yeah, I don't think someone choosing a green pumpkin Senko because, in their experience it catches fish in the conditions their facing, really jives with the definition of a superstition. su·per·sti·tion excessively credulous belief in and reverence for supernatural beings. Similar: a widely held but unjustified belief in supernatural causation leading to certain consequences of an action or event, or a practice based on such a belief.

EWG Ned hooks
I don't know how hard it is to make a spincast mold but if the VMC hooks are readily available, that's probably how I'd go. I'm afraid it's going to be a long time until the Victory hooks are available in any number with them being a new company, but I didn't want to miss out on the mold either.

EWG Ned hooks
I'm not sure how many I'll actually initially need, the 50 might get me through until I can get some. I'd hate to take yours and then they not be available for a long time and you need them.

For Us KC Area Guys - Fishing Reports
Missed more than we caught but our best 5 would have been around 17-18 pounds with the 2 biggest being 4.59 and 5.12 but only caught 6 or 7 bass and a few tiny white bass.

For Us KC Area Guys - Fishing Reports
This time of year is usually pretty tough anywhere. I'd probably be at Melvern or Clinton out of those options and be open to catching whatever was biting. I'll be beating my head against the wall at La Cygne again.

Alternate Trout Baits?
I have the 1/16 and 1/8oz in 3 colors but probably use the 1/8oz gold the most. https://www.academy.com/shop/pdp/z-man®-flashback®-mini-2-1-2-chatterbait®?gmc_feed=t&campid=71700000050238199&adgroupid=58700004916746674&device=m&keyword=92700057163983511&Channel=pla&gclid=Cj0KCQjwpf2IBhDkARIsAGVo0D1k_STKewiAGZQyILhm3_s7hjDrVb-TKLuIcdCZVjIPD9XlKbFvFVwaAuKyEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds#repChildCatid=168437&ogmap=SEM|PLN|GOOG|SHOP|m|OUT||NonBrand-Shopping-HighIntent-Outdoor|Outdoor-Fishing||71700000050238199|58700004916746674

EWG Ned hooks
Anyone have an inside source on the hooks for the EWG Ned hooks? Just bought the mold and it comes with 50 hooks but can't find more in stock anywhere. Victory 10777 #1 EWG is what it says on the website.

Post a photo a day!
They got the boat launched at least.

Favorite new spinnerbait
Pretty sure you sent me one of those. I put a single colorado blade on mine and use it early in the year as a smaller profile bait I can keep close to the bottom. It's worked well for me.

Are you a precision caster?
The more expensive the bait I've tied on, the less accurate I become.

Tournament Bags
Our little reservoirs get pounded by recreational and tournament pressure all through the summer. Every year during the heat of the summer, I'll see several pictures of guys holding up big, obviously dead bass and smiling for the camera. I'm sure the fish is just thrown back at the ramp afterwards. Our water temps get north of 90 degrees because the lakes are shallow and temps get high for extended periods. A lot of fish are caught first thing in the morning and then hauled around for 6 or 7 hours in a livewell, that's rough. I'd like to see at least a reduction in the limit (3 instead of 5 maybe), but even more I'd like to see a change to CPR style tournaments. The tournament pressure is immediately evident on the lakes here. One of the lakes that really turned on last year, was producing over 100 fish a day with 15-20lb bags that were a mix of smallmouth and largemouth. Tournaments were scheduled nonstop, anglers fished it daily, and now a good day is 15-20 fish with 8-12 pounds winning most tournaments. It took one year to overfish it. My favorite smallmouth lake was nearly destroyed the same way. It took 3 years for it to bounce back once it went over the edge. Still not back to where it was but much better than a few years ago. It came back the most once they stopped having tournaments on it because the fishing was so bad. Seems like more than just a coincidence.
