  1. Shorten the leader and pitch it next to cover. I like the same Zoom shakyhead worm I use for smallmouth on a DS. I've had good success dropping it straight next to pole timber in deep water at Table Rock for largemouth and spots also. These two came off the same tree on back to back drops on The Rock a few years ago.
  2. Did you fool it into biting in a legal manner? Then it counts. I don't care where the fish came from, a legal catch is a legal catch.
  3. Welcome!
  4. The state drained one of my favorite strip pits to put in a culvert several years ago. It was loaded with 3-5 pound fish but they all died as a result. Now they drained another one of my favorites to turn it into a duck marsh, because I guess ducks can't land on water unless it's a less than 2' deep ?‍♂️ Wasn't a lot of fish in it but seemed like every 4th or 5th fish would be over 5 and that's my kind of fishing but it's dry as a bone now while they fill it in.
  5. I was talking about the end of the thread, not sure what we're trying to gain here other than just complaining to hear ourselves complain and I think we've about done enough of that. LOCKDOWN!!
  6. Watching glow sticks on our lines on the beach in Florida last Saturday, waiting for one to dive towards the ocean.
  7. Congrats! My boys are almost exactly 3 years apart. Some days they seem like they're twins, others like polar opposites. 2 are way more work than 1 no doubt, but I couldn't imagine life without either of them.

  9. This is exactly what happened, but people will use it as an example of animals showing compassion for others when it was pure survival instinct by the doe.
  10. I use a H2O Ethos Micro 7' 3" ML for my drop shot rod but have also used it for Neds and other finesse baits and it works very well.
  11. I tried it, was just a novelty item for me that served no real purpose so I got rid of it. Spinning gear felt way more natural with the same techniques I was using it for and I don't need a bunch more gear. I think it has a lot to do with the fine motor skills in my right hand/arm vs my left (right hand holds my spinning rods while my left holds my bait casters). I can't do the small manipulations of a bait with my left hand/arm like I can my right.
  12. I'll get some smaller overruns, and a few bird nest, but it's been a long time since I blew one up so bad I couldn't get it out.
  13. The head looks nice, but the part the trailer should push up on looks really thick.
  14. Didn't realized they axed the 10" version. I have several bags, they're just as good as the 7.5" size. There's still a decent amount of them out there on the web for sale.
  15. The Zoom Magnum Trick Worm is kind of the gold standard for a summer time shakyhead worm on LOZ.
  16. The fish on Table Rock love that 2.75" size on a small jighead.
  17. It's someone's version of a craw tube for sure. They're a big fish bait for me. Not sure why, but they seem to get bigger bites when pitched around cover than other baits do.
  18. No it's a popper. I had one, it doesn't walk worth a darn much to my dismay. The 80 size walks so well, I really thought the big one would be even easier to walk, boy was I wrong.
  19. Believe it's a Long A screw tail.
  20. I really like the Glass Rap for trolling. I've got a #5 purple glass rap that's more scratches than paint somewhere.
  21. I fish the Big Turd a lot, especially if I'm after largemouth primarily. Jighead doesn't change, 1/16oz homemade Midwest Finesse head with a #2 hook.
  22. A lot of difficulty with reading comprehension going on in this thread ? I use round bend for baits like topwaters and jerks that they tend to swat at. Cranks and traps that they usually get better, I like EWG. Does it really matter? Probably not, but I'm confident in it and you fish better if you're confident in what you're using.
  23. A bait I've never been able to have much success with but always seemed like it should work. Another old bait I never see used anymore is a Mann's Stingray grub. Use to wear some bass out on those things.
  24. Found these while we were on vacation and stopped by the Pyramid store in Tennessee. I'm sure they'll be as solid as the rest of the Berkley hardbait lineup has been for me.
