  1. I just want to know what kind of line he was using. I'd have broke it off for sure if I'd have done the same.
  2. Welcome!
  3. Zebras will cut braid just as easy as mono. Fishing above them or light baits that don't crash into the bottom and check your line a lot. You're still going to get "zebra'd", as I call it.
  4. Yeah, that's why I started making them, way too expensive to buy.
  5. No, from shore. I haven't used a minnow trap.
  6. Throw net usually. I usually set it in the bottom of my kayak when I'm paddling somewhere.
  7. It drags slightly if I paddle with it down but I don't so it's not an issue. I just let it sink. Not sure how big the holes are, I used a screwdriver and stabbed a bunch of holes. Water goes all different directions when I left it out. I've put all kinds of small baitfish, whatever is small enough to fit through the top, plus crawdads in it, just don't overcrowd them. I usually catch them as I go so I just get a few and fish until I need more. I tie the cord around the bottle neck.
  8. If I remember correctly from what my grandpa taught me, this is a male watermelon and likely to not be as sweet as the smaller, rounder female fruits, but still pretty proud to have grown one this large in our small garden in the backyard. 29.2 pounds on the bathroom scale (1 6 year old for scale).
  9. The white stick Degree is the only thing I've been able to use. Every other one I've tried caused a reaction and burns so bad I have to walk around like a scarecrow the rest of the day.
  10. This and the quality of what was being offered was subpar quality and overpriced for what I was getting (looking at you Zman chatterbaits).
  11. I'm going to have to go through and see which ones I have for sure. There's some I know I have and some that I'm pretty sure I still have but I've sold and loaned out a few that I might not have in my possession currently so I'd have to check and see. Ones I know I have; Football shakyhead round shakyhead round weedless jig mold 5/16, 3/8, 7/16 brush jig large and small sizes weedless standup football jig with wire keeper weedless snootie jig 1/8, 3/16, 1/4 swimbait jig mold with the double keepers swinging football head, small size Tapered Tube TX mold, good for making stupid tube heads Herring head jig, medium sizes Jigging spoon mold (slab spoon type) Slip jig weighted hook drop shot finesse weight H spinnerbait mold, large size Collin's Hidden eye flipping jig Pretty sure I have the Shad head with wire keeper mold also I've got a few I have to leave off because I sell so many I can't afford to loan the molds out for any length of time, sorry.
  12. I use a 28oz Gatorade bottle with holes punched in the top sides and a string tied to it for my bait "live well", when I'm in the kayak. Unscrew the top and pour a bait into my hand. When I want to move I just set it into the bottom of the kayak and go.
  13. Croc-O-Gator Ring Craw on a 1/8oz Slider head. I just slow drag it on the bottom. It's a killer for me in early spring when the craws are small.
  14. I use a St. Croix Legend Tournament Bass 6' 10" M/L XF for my Ned rigs. Pretty much the only thing I ever use the rod for and it gets used a lot.
  15. Berkley made the leeches in your picture, they've been discontinued for awhile though. Berkley makes a leech in the Gulp line up still though.
  16. I've done the rod in the teeth for swimming deep holes, it's not fun.
  17. I've seen rod slings with just a strap and a tube to put the butt of the rod in and sling it over your shoulder but I'd probably just roll with 1 if I had no shoreline access. Plenty of gravel bar access on the creeks and Ozark streams that I've done my wading at.
  18. I think they probably have some concept of how big they are, but it seems to be pretty vague or inaccurate with how many fish attack baits that they'd have no chance of swallowing if they were real prey.
  19. CC spots sink slower than a Rattle Trap, that probably has a lot to do with it also.
