  1. The points are cut off.
  2. Anybody tried one yet? I've got a couple and they are sweet! Haven't got my terminal box loaded up yet (thinking of paying someone to do that task for me ?), but I got my bladed jig box loaded up and man does it look good!
  3. spoons, inline spinners, blade baits.
  4. I only clip it off for rigging on a shakyhead with a screwlock. T rigging I leave it alone.
  5. That Shine Glide is the good stuff IMO. I've had much more expensive baits, but those things flat out get bit and I'm not afraid to put it were it needs to be. https://www.ebay.com/itm/6th-Sense-Provoke-106X-Jerkbait-Wabi-Sabi/392436442618?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649
  6. The DT4 and DT6 I've had numerous bait failures, to the point that I no longer buy them no matter how effective they are. They aren't super expensive, but at >$7 a pop just to have them fall apart sometimes without ever catching a fish, I couldn't do it anymore. I found one in a tree last fall and had one of my best days with a crankbait all year when I tied it on. It also had a good sized chunk missing out of it by the end of the day from???? I guess bumping the bottom or catching fish shook a piece loose? I never smack wood baits to clear weeds and my cast weren't ever close to hitting anything, maybe previous damage I guess. I've tried plastic versions and they aren't the same. I'd probably pay extra for a thru wire constructed version if Rapala ever came out with one. I've never had any issues with the bigger DTs, but I've never caught many fish on them either.
  7. It is, I think I got pretty close though. I feel like I got the right colors in the right places and close to the right amounts. My poor phone camera doesn't take very good pictures either so that doesn't help tell the whole story.
  8. I can't speak for California state law, but I highly doubt that's true, especially since bass would mostly eat the species of fish that would control mosquito populations and do very little, if any, mosquito population control themselves. Bass mostly get into golf courses, strip pits, quarries and the like because;
  9. A customer asked me to match a very unique spinnerbait color with one of my bladed jigs. Hopefully he'll be happy with the results. My bladed jig color match. I don't have a blue sapphire paint, so I did an improvisation to match the head to the bait.
  10. Biggest game changer for me was switching to Owner Cover Shot hooks. I use to nose hook my bait and seemed I snagged a lot and missed a lot of fish. Now I don't snag a hook hardly ever and miss very few fish. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Owner_Cover_Shot_Worm_Hooks_5pk/descpage-OCSG.html
  11. Hasn't been a big multispecies year for me; largemouth smallmouth spotted bass meanmouth white bass wiper warmouth green sunfish bluegill white crappie black crappie walleye sauger saugeye flathead catfish channel catfish longnose gar longear sunfish drum goggle eye common carp rainbow trout snapping turtle myself ?
  12. I still do ?‍♂️ Works just fine for jigs when I'm not in real heavy cover.
  13. I'd say neither, but you can't catch jig fish with mono anymore apparently so go with the flouro.
  14. I signed up, $60 for a reel that takes up 42" of a line a handle turn? I like both the other 2 versions of the Speed Demon I have and this one appears to be nicer still than either of those, hard for me to say no.
  15. I've used everything from a 5.0:1 to a 8.1:1. It didn't really matter until a fish was attached. I prefer a 6/7 ratio is what I've found.
  16. Would have loved to make it to that SU event. Someday when my kids are old enough to go with me and not tell mom about everything I buy maybe.
  17. Made a longer drive than I normally like yesterday. When you're driving 2 hours round trip to fish for 2.5 hours, it stinks, but big fish were calling my name. High hopes when I had nice dark, tea colored 60 degree water at the ramp, not so much when it was 52 and looked like coffee with a lot of creamer at my spot. Not a sign of a baitfish anywhere up the river where I went, but I squeaked out 4 bites and landed 2 of them. Both on a 1/2oz War Eagle, white with double gold hammered willowleaf blades and 4.8 speed shad for a trailer.
  18. No idea where it was to start with, but it seems to fall pretty well under the fishing reports forum; Fishing Reports What worked? What didn't? Ask for advice or just brag like the rest of us! Post your fishing reports here.
  19. Agreed, these baits are the solution for a problem that just doesn't exist in my world. If they don't get the hooks on a regular 100 pointer, it probably wasn't worth catching anyways.
  20. I wonder if they're really stretchy like the Sukoshi bug is? Haven't used the Shimmer Shad but the Sukoshi Bug is a good bait so I wouldn't be surprised if the shad is also productive.
  21. Welcome!
  22. I feel like I've really turned the corner and figured out this dropshotting thing. My best guide trip of the year even ending with me sitting my client on one spot and showing him how to do it and watching him stick fish after fish on a dropshot even though it was his first time ever using one. I got my oldest son out in the boat quite a few times and my youngest out for the first time and got him to catch his first fish, those are the most important goals for me right now.
  23. Not exactly how I wanted to spend one of the last nice Sundays we'll probably have this year, but the wife is happy that I got the damaged and rotten boards on our deck replaced.
  24. It's a nice looking reel. Can get on the list to get one for $60, full price will be $120. Good way to get a blazing fast reel for cheap.
