  1. Depends on the degree of dinkiness. If I'm catching a bunch of 12-14 inchers, I'd rather catch quality fish but numbers are fun too. Now my last few just for fun trips I've been really working to get bites and they've been mostly 8-12 inch fish, it's been frustrating.
  2. That's strange, I have several reels spooled with Smackdown from 50 down to 10, including one with 10lb Stealth Grey. I can't recall ever breaking it and fraying has never been an issue.
  3. Gardner kicked out another good one for me tonight in our Thursday night tournament. We won with 11.77 pounds and this was big bass at 4.41 pounds, my first bite of the night and a prime example of how camera angle can make a fish look much larger than it actually is.
  4. This rod is a really solid frog rod, I use it for my frog/flipping rod in my kayak and johnboat when I don't want to take my expensive gear. The 7' H/F Ethos from Academy makes a really good frog rod too. I use a 7' 3" H/F Ethos as my main frog rod, best frog rod I've ever used.
  5. I have something similar to this setup but I used a couple pieces of PVC, some small bungees, and a few J hooks. Cost less than $10 for all the materials and keeps them up and out of the way.
  6. It's an interesting idea. I'd like to see it on the back of a moving bait like a squarebill or trap. I could see it being really good on the back of a wake bait or floating minnow too.
  7. Got a Bone 110 Plopper out of a tree 2 weeks ago, second plopper I've found in a month and either the 8th or 9th one I've found this year. Also got a PopR and LiveTarget Bait Ball squarebill out of trees last week.
  8. Another Thursday night tournament, another win and big bass for the night. She was my first bite of the night on a Big Bite Baits YoMomma under a dock.
  9. There was a bit of sarcasm in my post, sort of. Cedar Bluff use to be a great lake until it almost dried up. Never fished Webster and have no idea what or where Norman is? Maybe you mean Norton? I fish mostly eastern Kansas. It's not terrible, but not top 100 in the country worthy or even close really.
  10. Welcome!
  11. Fished Olathe this morning with high hopes with the clouds and rain, it did not pan out. They were nowhere and biting nothing, basically it was a surprise every time I got bit. This is 2/3 of the fish I caught in 3 hours of fishing in seemingly perfect conditions.
  12. I have 2 of the 150's. I like the size of them as I was use to reels like the 200B Curado and these are really similar sized, but a little smaller I believe. They're super smooth and solid reels just like the 100 is, very happy with them.

  14. Haven't gotten to fish them much yet, but what I have I've like them really well. A much more reasonable option for me to use than other magnum finesse style worms and plenty of good color options. I was pitching a lightly weighted one at docks last week and they were eating it good.
  15. My youngest son Finn loves Toy Story. He got some Woody pjs and was loving them, he's maybe a bigger ham than his older brother.
  16. I've been using the Seaguar Smackdown Flash Green all year on one of my rods and catching fish with it just fine, even without a leader.
  17. I wouldn't put it on either of them. Mono or copolymer works better for all those baits IMO and is cheaper than fluoro. Fluorocarbon is for sinking, bottom contact baits and leader material only in my boat.
  18. I don't buy them, but when I'm making them, I'm typically making myself 10-20 at a time. I usually make some every couple of months.
  19. Picked this guy up for under $20. Works nice as a wake on a slow retrieve or a crank down if I move it a little faster.
  20. I've also fished them weightless and twitched them like a fluke, or even over vegetation like a toad that I could drop into holes in the weeds with quite a bit of success.
  21. Welcome!
  22. Took Lake and my oldest niece Lilly fishing Sunday. With all the lakes being 80+ degree water temps and Lilly having very little fishing experience, we pretty much were limited to going somewhere we could fish for whatever was biting and they needed to be biting fast. I even bought some nightcrawlers to make sure that fish were caught. They both caught lots of bluegills, several drum, and Lilly caught a bass and channel cat. I'm not a big fan of catching drum, but they were great for the kids because they bit so readily, pull hard, and they get good sized.
  23. My boys and one of my nieces riding a ride at one of the county fairs Saturday night.
  24. Only fish worth catching on an otherwise unexciting outing.
