Then don't use trebles at night, I rarely do.

Your Better Half
My wife likes to go with me and fish for awhile when they're biting and the weather is nice. I enjoy taking her and spending time with her doing what I love doing. Her PB largemouth while we were in South Carolina at a friends lake which was a of course just a little bit bigger than my biggest of the day, but I don't mind

Got a few crappie and one of of the biggest, darkest longear sunfish I've ever caught this weekend.

Glide Bait for Targeting Multiple Species?
I've caught several wipers on glide baits, as well as white bass. I haven't caught any catfish on one, but I know they'll eat them. Walleyes will absolutely eat them, I just rarely fish anywhere that there is any kind of walleye population with a glide bait.

For Us KC Area Guys - Fishing Reports
Went to Melvern twice this weekend. Things are looking really promising for the future out there. Short trip Sunday, Monday was really good, haven't got the video put together from it yet but my biggest 5 were in the 16-17 pound range, none of them were largemouth.

El Dorado Lake guidance
Been wanting to try that lake but have never made the drive down there. Glad you had success it sounds like.

What pound test leader?
I only use a leader with braid on my spinning rods, no leader on casting rods ever, just personal preference. I typically use 8lb test leader, but I'll go as heavy as 15 and as light as 6 depending on what I'm doing.

Copolymer Question.
I like copolymer or mono for big swimbaits for the same reasons Tom listed. Berkley Big Game, Pline, and Hi-SEAS Grand Slam are my lines of choice.

Kastking Speed Demon Frog Rod
The hook keepers on mine bent easily as well. I absolutely hate the location of the hook keepers too. I don't know who thought putting them on the back of the rod below the reel was a good idea, but they're wrong.

Booyah melee opinion?
It's a very unique bait. It feels lighter than it is because the lead is further back on the head. It comes over cover much better than any other open hook bladed jig that I've fished because the way the head is designed, it almost acts like the bill of a crankbait. The blade hits the head and makes noise, which can be a big plus in dirty water or calling them out of cover. I had a great day fishing one in dirty water last fall with a nearly 20lb bag coming off a black and blue Melee fished around shallow rocks and weeds.

Big bite baits
He works for them The Yomoma is one of my go to flipping baits. Caught a new lake PB on one a couple weeks ago, then won big bass and the tournament with a different color one last week. The new swimon bladed jig trailer is money too. Hopefully it will be available in some other colors eventually, but the action and durability has been great. Politician colored Yomoma, lake PB. Black Neon/watermelon red, Thursday night big bass and first place.

AN AFFORDABLE GLIDE BAIT
I've almost bought one off Ebay on several occasions. I'm just so stuck on the Shine Glide for an affordable glide bait that I never fish anything else.

Latest Catch Pics Thread
After the lakes being over 20' high for a lot of the summer, it's finally be dry long enough that they've managed to get them back down to a reasonable level. Unfortunately, a major rainstorm made the Corps shut the releasing back down for a week or so, but with the lake at 6' high and stable for a period of time, my wife and I took a rare trip together Sunday to see how the lake was doing. It's mainly a smallmouth lake, which is her favorite fish to catch, so that's what we were hoping for. Lake was packed with a walleye tournament and pleasure boaters everywhere since it's one of the only reservoirs in the state that is open again. Water looked great, fingerling bass were everywhere we looked thanks to the floods not happening until after the fish had spawned and their eggs had hatched, it should really be great in the upcoming years. We only had a few hours to fish, I mainly wanted to check the lake out, but we caught a bunch of little guys of all 3 species of bass, along with some much nicer ones, several sunfish, and a good crappie apiece. It was so good that I went back Monday to try and really dial them in. I think I did a pretty good job of it, especially considering the second day in a row of flat, calm conditions making the bite tougher than it would have been with a little wind.

05 Aug 2019 ~ Unusual SMB Catch
Wow, I had a small largemouth with a swollen senko and big offset worm hook in it's throat that I removed last week but I've never seen one with multiple baits like that.

How Far Down South
I fish year round in NE Kansas thanks to power plant lakes. Our open water season usually runs into December and they open back up in late February or early March. I'd go further south though. Arkansas has open water year round usually and lots of nice lakes with a variety of fish species.

How To Remove Hooks from a Catfish
I use Kahle hooks for catfish a lot with cutbait. Use a pair of pliers and a firm jerk and the hook should come right out if you're getting them in the corner of the mouth like they usually do. You can pinch the barb down to make removal easier, they're not going to throw the hooks without it that they wouldn't have thrown with it.

Light topwater baits
I've got Zara Puppies and Tiny PopRs in my creek box that I fish on a 5' light spinning rod with 4lb test. They've caught hundreds of bass and sunfish for me.

Finessing in low light
I've caught lots of fish on a Ned rig and shakyhead after dark. Small craws and minnows don't suddenly get bigger and louder after dark and bass are still able to find them.
