  1. Winter time works for me but I think some others have outdoor shops that it might not work so well for.
  2. It works, I prefer the full sized version though.
  3. Send them all to me, one of my favorite plastic worms of all time. I fish them on a shakyhead mostly though and they've accounted for some big fish, including one of my top 10 biggest I've ever caught in Kansas.
  4. Only time I don't fish big baits is during the extremely cold water months. Some of my biggest swimbait fish have been in the fall and early winter on a Slammer or glide bait.
  5. Sometimes I'll match, sometimes I mismatch. There's no way to tell other than to try unfortunately but it can make a big difference.
  6. I catch a lot of fish on a Super Spook Jr. If it's up to me though, I'd much rather fish a bigger walker with 3 trebles like a Repoman, Arashi 13 or a pencil popper like a Cane Walker or Showerblows.
  7. I haven't felt a need to use anything heavier than 1/8oz yet but I don't deal with any current. Even in heavy boat wakes and 30+ feet of water this weekend I was doing just fine with 1/8oz.
  8. Frogs, walkers, poppers, rear prop baits-straight braid buzzbaits, double prop baits-mono/copolymer
  9. Had a great weekend with the family on Table Rock. We camped at the favorite camp ground of my wife and I (Aunt's Creek) and it was the first time tent camping for both our boys. They had a blast and everything went as well as we could have hoped for. They got to swim in the lake, which they loved but had us on edge the whole time. They both loved going fast in the boat. I brought a tub of red wigglers and they caught approximately a million bluegill and sunfish (give or take 1 or 2, I was too busy unhooking fish to keep exact count). They both also got to catch/reel in a couple bass in the boat also with Finn taking big fish honors with a really feisty smallmouth that was giving him the business for quite a while. I also got to sneak out for a few hours Sunday afternoon while everyone was napping and got on a hot deep water drop shot and jigging spoon bite on some deep trees. Not my strong suit, but I was making it work for me for a few hours pretty hot and heavy until I got the call that everyone was awake again and wanted to go back out in the boat, of course that bite was over by the time I got them back to that spot. I wrapped up the trip by catching the 3rd meanmouth I've ever caught. It was my last fish of the trip and really gave me a tough time getting it out of the deep trees on a drop shot.
  10. Welcome back! Sam is still here, and I believe Wayne P is as well, BassClary is not.
  11. I had a spot die on me Sunday. It wasn't even hooked bad and didn't bleed but it must have hit a bad spot because I was still fishing the area when it floated back up and started thrashing on it's side. Didn't make it long before an osprey swooped it. Everything dies and nature doesn't waste it. It's okay to feel bad, I got no satisfaction out of killing a fish I won't, and couldn't (not a keeper) eat, but I'm not going to loose any sleep over it. That fish might have met it's demise to a big flathead or bigger bass later the same day, who knows?
  12. Had a great weekend camping, fishing, and swimming with my wife and kids at Table Rock! Hope everyone else had a great weekend!

  14. Huh, they changed the name I guess. They were originally the pitbull or something like that I thought? Anyways, yes they're a nice bait like the other Berkley hardbaits are. Chameleon Pearl has been my best color but Special Red Craw is a good one too.
  15. I leave the blocker on and Google search "Bassresource Login". Click on the first option that comes up on the search and it takes me straight to the login page.
  16. I like the Flat 75X better, but I've had an issue with the lips breaking on them which is not a concern with the Spro.
  17. They work great, but if there's many panfish in the creek you'll potentially have an issue dealing with them stealing your bait with the crawlers.
  18. Nightcrawlers on a slipsinker rig is a good option if you're wanting one bait to catch both.
  19. Well it's taken a lot of work, but I hit a big milestone this weekend in a personal journey I've been on since this spring. I didn't realize how much I was getting up there until I see pictures from before I started until now. 235lbs, down to 185. I've witnessed several people around me with health issues recently, a lot of them weight related, or at the very least it's not helping the issue. I don't want to do that to my family and mostly my kids. They've been the main motivation that has kept me going when I wanted to give up.
  20. Yes it was. We caught many bass over 5 pounds the same 3 days. Just caught the fish in a feeding mood and kept putting the right baits in the right places. I had a mid 30 muskie my very first cast of the trip seemingly come 10' out of the water on a big chopper midway into the cast. Completely missed the bait, but it was on the entire time we were there and my BIL did end up catching 2 muskies on top the end of the first day, both on a buzzbait.
  21. For every one you see hanging around, you probably scared 10 off with your presence.
  22. Readily available, grow fairly large, aggressive, variety of ways to catch them, can be caught year round. Those are some of the reasons I chase them. I love fishing for lots of different kinds of fish, some I would target more than bass if they shared all or most of the same features I listed, but none of them fit the bill.
