  1. Yep, not all smallmouth have red eyes and their colors vary wildly. What you have there is 100% a smallmouth bass, congrats.
  2. This is what a giant pile of ants looks like after you dump a whole can of spray on them when you find the giant mass clinging above a pipe in the garage. I guess they came under the garage door to get out of the rain? Just glad they were found before making their way further into the residence. They're a good 1/2" deep along the wall in the top picture.
  3. Don't overlook the Duo Realis jerkbaits either. They make awesome baits that don't seem to get a lot of love for some reason. The little Rozante 73 in Neo Pearl has been my best jerkbait from winter until now. It's been catching everything this fall too. The purple mist 120 size was really good this year too.
  4. Lite trout and bone are my favorite colors, there's no trout where I'm fishing either.
  5. The feeling when you first start to grasp a new technique is one of the most rewarding feelings in this sport. Congrats on getting on a solid jig bite.
  6. I'd go with this model, the baits in the pictures are similar to the size of the baits you're looking to store. 11 slots that should hold 2-3 baits per slot should put you over 20 baits in a box pretty easily. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Plano_Elite_3707_Medium_Crankbait_Organizer/descpage-P370707.html
  7. Our poor confused catfish are trying really hard to be bass right now.
  8. Congrats on the new reel! It will take some getting use to, but it will be worth it in the end. BTW, your largemouth is most certainly a smallmouth.
  9. Welcome!
  10. Nah, none of those ones are even real tough ones to ID, probably quite a few guys on here who could have done the same. I mean I buy a lot of fishing gear and can ID a lot of baits, so there might be a little problem there too.
  11. Both, they both make nice baits.
  12. I think maybe "effective", might not have been the best wording for a bait that hasn't seen any action other than a fish tank. We sold a ton of baits when I worked at Cabela's that looked great in the little display tanks, but almost all of them were baits that caught fishermen and not many fish. Enticing, maybe, effective, yet to be seen.
  13. A white trick worm on a wacky jig has saved the day for me more than once.
  14. The 3 Lew's reels and 3 rods are worth the asking price if they're in decent condition IMO. Going to guess the top two reels might be Quantum? It's all gear from Wal-Mart I'd almost bet on it. Left column top to bottom; ??? Booyah Clacker buzzbait Gary Yamamoto Popper Zara Spook Strike King Sexy Dawg Strike King Sexy Dawg Second column from the left top to bottom; Strike King 1.5 Mann's Baby -1 Rapala Scatter Rap Rapala Scatter Rap 2 jerkbaits are a Rapala X-rap and Yamamoto jerkbait lipless baits are a Strike King Redeye shad and Cotton Cordell Spot bladed jigs are all Zman original chatterbaits top 2 jigs look like Booyahs, bottom two look like Strike King, I'd guess a pro model and a Bitsy or Bitsy flip. Spinnerbaits are a Booyah, War Eagle, then 2 Mepp's inline spinners.
  15. Ready for them? Why'd you stop fishing them? A Duo jerkbait has been one of my best baits for the last months and our water temps still haven't fallen below 70.

  17. I feel like Strike King and Bandit are 2 companies that offer some of the most complete line ups of crankbaits from super shallow runners to very deep divers and a good selection of colors.
  18. I have several open pour molds from them. Their molds are difficult to really get a feel for the dimensions of the bait that it produces I feel like, but if you get the right ones they make a nice bait for cheap.
  19. Not at all. I caught almost 20 on my 7" Bone shine Glide last time out and only a couple were over 2 pounds. Bass have no idea how big they are (or aren't), and the size of the bait is a big part of the draw. Who knows, there might be more big fish in your ponds than you realize. I know I was shocked when I started fishing h them in some of the lakes I fished a ton and thought that all the fish were small.
  20. I think he was telling me my camera was pointed too high because that's the only picture I had ? Deer have been tearing up my mineral lick, so I know there's plenty back there again this year.
  21. A picture I thought was pretty neat from my trail camera. Not the big buck I was hoping for, but cool nonetheless.
  22. Nobody makes a Shine Glide KO blank. I've tried several glide bait blanks and haven't found one I liked yet.
