  1. Did you get a length or girth? Without those, I'd guess around 3.5-4 pounds, a very stocky fish.
  2. Welcome!
  3. When in doubt, green pumpkin.
  4. River2Sea Bubble Walker 80, my personal favorite popper that is still in production.
  5. Cassidee usually has a smile on her face, especially in the boat or when she's outside.
  6. Stop spreading these nasty rumors that the Ned rig catches big fish! Everyone knows it only catches dinks! Nothing to see here.
  7. It's not garbage, it worked just fine while my son used it. Thing is, I had an ultralight sized Pfluegar President without a home, so I put it on his rod. A 33 is going to be a much better reel than the 202 is if they're still built like they used to be. The 202 is all plastic inside.
  8. You're right, that's all we know and in combination with past experiences with individuals similar to what he has described, that's the advice he received. Maybe the better advice is not to ask for life advice from a bunch of strangers on the internet
  9. Interesting first post. I think if you read the post directly above yours, you'll see why so many responded like they did.
  10. Going off the ratings on the rod and what you're looking to do with it, should be about perfect.
  11. Since I first picked up an LTB a decade ago, they've been my preferred rod. Lots of other nice rods out there, but I feel like the quality to value rate I get with the LTB lineup is the best going.
  12. Haven't used it, but picked up a spool for cheap from Academy a while back. Looks and feels nice, haven't needed to spool any reels with braid in the size I got though.
  13. I've had good luck with the Gamakatsu octopus circle hooks. They're thinner wire with a wide gap and very sharp.
  14. That's right about where mine run. Doesn't have as pronounced a wiggle as the standard 1.5, but it does get bit.

Looks like a YUM Dinger in Mardi Gras color, but can't tell if there's any purple flake or if it's just gold? Either way, just buy the Dinger and be done with it.
  16. Just started making my own this winter because the store bought ones are so expensive. I like to fish a 7" stickworm or 11" YUM Mighty worm on them.
  17. Thanks! I just got done ranting about how badly I dislike my 100MPH suit on another thread. Just bought an F3 suit to replace them hopefully.
  18. It's just a heavier gauge wire black nickel hook. You can get them in smaller hooks, I recently bought some with a 2/0.
  19. I have owned Guidewear, but I bought them when I was a 18 and they shrunk on me sometime in my mid 20's. They were still going strong when I sold them though and I wish I'd gone and bought another set. Currently own a 100MPH suit. I've had to return it twice now for zippers failing and seams coming unsewn. For the money I spent on it, they've been a very disappointing purchase that I would not suggest making. Last time I had to take them back because the stitching around the wrist gave out and water was running down my arms. When I took them in, they not only told me they no longer carried black 100MPH suits (which turned out to be completely false), that they only warranty them for 1 year, after that the buyer has to send them back to GoreTex to see if they can be replaced or fixed for a cost. I'm not one to get upset easily, but it really upset me that 1. I'd had to return the thing not once but twice in 4 years in the first place for vital parts failing, and 2. They only stand behind their flagship suit that cost nearly $500 when it's all said and done, for a measly year. Granted, I fish a lot, and in a lot of bad weather that requires me wearing the suit, but if it's not going to stand up to being used for what it's intended for, what good is it?
  20. Weighted bobbers will float upright as well as cast better than unweighted versions. As long as you're not adding a bunch of weight, they'll be your best option.
  21. I use the pro spider slider head with finesse plastics pretty often. Killer rig and easier to rig up small, thin profile plastics than it is on a shakyhead. Nothing you can really do about the weeds though except try a lighter head. I've got some of the 1/32oz ones and they almost rest on top of the weeds.
  22. My 3 year old uses the Dock Demon, they're about unbreakable, but I started him straight on spinning gear instead of spincast and I took the reel off and put a Pfluegar President on it instead. The reel that was on it wasn't terrible, so I'd assume the spincast version would be decent as well.
  23. I personally use a Garmin Virb Elite and have been really happy with it. I have a suction mount I put in my windshield of the boat and shoot from there. The head and chest mount videos are awful IMO. My boat has a 12V charging port so I bought a 12V charging cord and just keep it plugged in at all times, battery life is never an issue that way. If you're wanting to hear everything in the video, you'll need the external mic with the Virb. I don't have one, hearing me wouldn't add much except inappropriate jokes and swearing to the video.
  24. I love fishing Perry, but man it's been rough out there the last couple years. Hopefully it will start producing good again. Anybody weigh any smallmouth?
  25. Does your boat have a 12V outlet? I have one in mine and bought a 12V power cord and keep it plugged into that.
